WARNING some of these images you really can’t un-see…

Birthing images have long been censored on social media—until a group of activists decided that women should be able to
actually see a baby emerging from its mother’s vagina.

In early January 2018, a month after a Change.org petition was first published, it was agreed that Facebook and
Instagram policicies would be changed to allow birth content.

Facebook’s and Instagram’s decision to change their policy is the result of years of conversations with women’s health
advocates and the birthing community, Instagram’s Karina Newton told HarpersBazaar.com exclusively.

It’s also personally important to her as a mother of two, she says: “We’re really proud that Instagram’s nudity policy
is evolving to allow for that community, and for moms and families to share photos and videos of childbirth.”

Some mum’s might find these images a bit confronting and even distressing after their own birth experience. But we
believe they are simply too stunning not to share. Just be warned!

Ok back to those #oxytocinvibes. ✨ THIS!
This is #optionssupportrespect. Thank you @midwifeangelina for sharing. And thank you @instagram for
stopping your censorship of #birth so we can share this. ❤️ Watch her remove the veil (amniotic sac)
from baby’s head at the end. Incredible. _ This couple was constantly told from others that mommy would
beg for the epidural, that she wouldn’t be able to naturalbirth, that she would end up heading to the
hospital, that she was crazy to do something like this. Don’t let others dictate your pregnancy, labor,
birth, or parenting. Hmmmmm, I think now they’re believers. ???? @midwifeangelina _ ETA: one person’s
journey and choices are not a judgment of another person’s journey and choices. _ #homebirth #birth

This very moment, one year ago I was in a
portal. A place between two worlds. Who I had been, who I was, was dying. Making way for a new normal.
Forced to say goodbye to my maiden self, ready or not. Labor pains began and escalated quickly. The
intensity was extreme, but exhilarating. Carrying me into the unknown. Unapologetically demanding my
surrender. This was birth. I was giving birth. About to know the meaning of true love. The deepest bond
known to man. Fierce, fervid, fathomless motherly love. Though it was the dead of winter, it was spring in
my heart, for new life was eminent. So sacred. So spiritual. The closest to god one could be. Creating a new
life, and bringing it earthside. So surreal. As you slid into the world, you were born, and I reborn. The
door between worlds closed. The genesis of my divine motherhood. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ #birthstory

Facebook and Instagram finally stop
censoring birth imagery thanks to petitions and campaigning by birthworkers. And right on Mother’s Day too.
???????????????????????????????? @empoweredbirthproject I have had several birth images removed after
posting. Which really, really ticks me off. Because I don’t get how anyone finds this offensive or ‘in
breach of community standards’. It’s a woman giving birth. Happens all day, every day all over the planet.
It’s a natural function of our bodies and it often requires nudity not because we are hoes but because it’s
more comfortable and practical soooooo… yeah, don’t get how it’s gross or inappropriate. UNLESS of course
you have a problem with the idea of things coming OUT of vaginas as well as things going INTO them. And
unless you have a problem with a woman looking fierce as fuck and in complete control of her own body.
???????????? Very happy! The shift is happening! Slowly, surely. Girls gotta know their pussy power
potential; pure pleasure portal AND – – > sacred symbol of abundance, perfection, the universe, source,
consciousness and gateway of LIFE. ????✨????????✨????✨✨ Image: @lindseymeehleis

Sometimes, when it comes to birth, seeing is
believing. For myself personally, when I was in labor with my first child, completely overwhelmed with the
pain and sensation of it all and feeling doubtful my baby would ever come out, I clung to mental images of
women giving birth. At that time, I hadn’t seen very many. Just a few photos in birthing and human
physiology texts I’d read. I’m passionate about sharing #uncensoredbirth photos for many reasons, one of
them being how helpful and important it is for birthing people to see that it is possible. And in this case,
this incredible hands-off breech birth. Breech Birth is an endangered practice, with fewer and fewer
practitioners being trained in attending and assisting this variation of normal. Behold— see it. Believe it!

  • Great photos but I personally would not post videos/images for viewing by the world. I think it is more of a personal process.

  • My son had to deliver his daughter last week. They weren’t planning on it,
His wife had a long labour with their first baby, so after an hour of having pains, she went to get showered and ready to go to the hospital.. However she didn’t make it, she called down to her husband (my son) I need you, I think that the babies head is on its way,he checked and it was, he called the paramedics and they guided him on what to do and he also had to keep their son out of the bathroom. The delivery occurred, however the cord had snapped in two. The paramedics got there in time to clasp it. So I now have another granddaughter. They are both doing really well. My son is still recovering.

  • I think that new mums to be need to see what happens to your body as then it might help them see what is going to happen during birthing process. This a natural birthing and good to see not disgusting.
