Here are some top tips for keeping safe around the schoolyard and back yard!

1. Make sure it’s a safe playing area

It’s easy to leave gardening tools lying around, the kids toys, even sprinkler and hose attachments can present a hazard.

Before the kids get outside to play, why not make a game out of it and have them help tidy up!

The quicker they help tidy up, the sooner they’ll have “free-reign” over their play areas.

2. At school, watch-out for others

With so many kids running around the playground, educate the kids of the importance for watching where they’re running. More often than not, the kids are too involved in playing their games to realise someone “bigger” may be running towards them and may not be able to stop as quickly as someone smaller.

3.  Listen to adults instructions

Out on the playground is one thing and obeying the teachers instructions is vital for kids, make sure they know that their instructions are just as important as obeying what ”Mum and Dad”  might say.

4. If you do fall and injure yourself  – use your HELP Hanky

First Aid For You has just launched their “HELP Hanky” made of red cotton, to take away the stress of little ones seeing blood. The HELP Hanky has been made to break-down the different steps for children to follow should they have an accident.

  • Impossible to have 100% safe zones. At school, the biggest dangers come from other kids, way too much bullying

  • It’s so important to have safe areas at hone and at school for our children. Sadly, it sometimes doesn’t matter what you do, the kids still manage to find a way to hurt themselves. So you can’t beat good old vigilance, never take your eyes off them
