What a scary experience !
And how frustrating mum was turned down numerous times !!
The mum didn’t let her child down, the doctors who turned her down did ! I hope they seriously investigate why these doctors turned her & her son down.

This is so frightening that this Mothers little boy was potentially facing death. Hospitals and doctors need to be more vigilant particularly with young children as they can deteriorate at a rapid rate when sick. This incident would have been so frustrating for the poor Mother. My prayers are with Hamza that he has a full and speedy recovery.

There is far too much of this happening. I would have called another Ambulance and let the paramedics help make the decision. Some of them are just about as good as some of the Drs. in hospitals. Anybody who is that ill is entitled to get further medical treatment. I know of a boy whose Mum was told he had eater green unripe apples and was sent home. First time she took him in by car. 2nd time she called an Ambulance, was lucky to get another Dr. and it was acute appendicitis which were close to bursting. Another case I know of the boy is asthmatic but doesn’t wheeze loud enough for it to be heard except by stethocope. He is one who coughs a lot when he has asthma attack, so much so that he often vomits. It’s marked on his hospital file. His Mum was told it was gastro, nothing even given for the vomitting and sent home. He was worse still the next day and had to go back to be rehydrated. By this time his Mum was really distressed and demanded he be examined properly. She had to make a big fuss and say she was going to lodge an official complaint before they took her seriously. She was not going to sit back quietly and watch her toddler get sicker by the moment. Believe me, she would have lodged complaints to more than one place, not just the hospital but the Health Dept too.

Ryan’s rule is specifically for queensland hospitals, REACH is the rule in nsw and has only been implemented in some of the nsw hospitals! This poor parent, it comes to a stage where medical practitioners make us as parents doubt ourselves! Ms Morsi did not let her son down in fact Ms Morsi did the opposite and saved her sons life!
I think all states need to incorporate RYANs rule, I think there is a lot to learn and be said about RYANS rule! Lives to be saved is the one that stands out to me!

Luckily that the mother gave enough importance to her son’s symptoms.
I hope he will soon be able to go back home. What a scare!!

Parents, remember Ryan’s rule and invoke it! If you disagree with the treatment of your child at an hospital you can invoke Ryan’s rule. This means a number of doctors not from that hospital are called in to give a second opinion!

She didn’t let him down st all if anything she saved him! The doctors who turned her away are entirely at fault imagine if she had not persisted. I hope he has a quick recovery

Imagine if the hospital didn’t listen again,the poor child would be in danger.

Hospitals really need to start listening to parents and parents really need to utilise their gps more for other illnesses so emergency staff don’t fob off seriously ill patients
