The 52-year-old actor took to Instagram to express his frustration and slam online trolls for constantly parent-shaming Tori, over what she chooses to feed their children.

When his wife actress, Tori Spelling, 45, shared a post of two of their children — Stella, 10, and Hattie, 7 – eating Little Bites strawberry yogurt muffins the mummy-shamers began openly criticising Spelling in the comments over what many claimed was a poor nutrition choice for kids.

“There is nothing healthy about these and trying to pass them off as such is a true disservice to your fans,” commented one fan.

“You know how people tear apart your children on social media for their weight, why on earth would you take on this kind of endorcement [sic] and further subject them to this kind of public ridicule? I’m baffled and blown away by this,” wrote another.

Dean exploded!

Having reached the end of his tether, McDermott shared a video message with his followers, condemning the haters.

“Hey everybody I am sick and tired, sick and tired, of everybody taking a shot at my wife Tori Spelling,” he began.

“Just because she’s a celebrity they think they can say and do whatever they want. She posted about a snack. It’s a snack, people. Haven’t we given our kids a snack before? Cakes, cookies, whatever. It’s a snack.”

He added, “She’s a great mum. We’re great parents. Our kids eat healthy. They eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, and occasionally they have a snack. So can we get over ourselves?”

“Well listen, to all you parents out there who think they are holier than, let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Why don’t you just right size the problem? It’s a snack people, get over it!”

“I’VE HAD ENOUGH!! This is newsworthy?? Leave my wife @torispelling alone already!! It’s a post about a snack!! A Snack!! Do you not give your kids snacks?? What’s wrong with people?? #backoff #thisisnews? #stopsocialbullying #stopbullying#peopleinglasshousesshouldntthrowstones #hypocrites #imfurious.”

In the past Dean has also shared his outrage after fans body shamed his children. Read more about that here.

  • Makes me feel disappointed in the human race when people instantly feel the need to pick on someone, I see it as bullying. It must make them feel better about themselves to pick on another mother just because she’s a celebrity. They should spend more time worrying about their own family instead of hers.

  • She was probably paid for the endorsement and her kids had never had them before or since. I wouldn’t take a celebrity social media pic so seriously.

  • People are narrow minded these days with nothing to do but put ppl down. I feed my kids snacks. I bet they feed their kids way better than I do with mine. Kids are happy meaning parents are happy too.

  • taking aim at someone’s kids is disgusting no matter what the situation is. How do we know that these kids are not just having a treat, maybe this is a once a week thing, who are we to judge, their kids their choice

  • People need to be kinder but if you’re advertising something you are almost certainly going to get opinions on what you’re advertising.

    • Advertising and promoting products always brings opinion – good or bad or other.

It is the nature of publicity.

  • totally agree with him, there is no need for it

  • Good on him. Some people are just mean and way too judgemental.

  • Good on him. People are so quick to judge yet their own kids are eating snacks too. In a world with so much hate why cant we just choose to be nicer people. Seriously, even I’m fed up reading about these keyboard warriors who all seem to be nutritionists

  • I hate when people pretend unhealthy food is healthy.

  • Kids like snacks, I know mine do. Seriously people need to stop judging others and take a look at themselves

  • Who cares if she gives her kids a treat occasionally. Everyone does.

  • I agree. It’s not nutritional food, but we don’t know what they eat 95% of the time.

  • I like her husband’s reaction. It’s generally too easy to troll someone. And Tori Spelling surely doesn’t deserve that.
