As the parents of the Thai soccer team anxiously wait news of their children, a series of heart-warming letters have been shared.

Letters written by the boys to their families within the past 24 hours reveal the children are hungry and craving their favourite foods.

In one of the messages, a boy called Tun writes, “Mom and Dad, please don’t worry, I am fine. I’ve told P’Yod to get ready to take me out for fried chicken. With love”.

Thai Navy SEAL’s helped to carry the messages, giving the boys’ families some hope as to how their children were coping after spending two weeks in the cave.

Another of the boys, Pong, reassures his parents he is doing well, writing, “Love you mum and dad, you don’t have to worry, we’re safe. Love you all”.

While a boy called Nick writes, “Mum and Dad, I love you and Toi. If we get out, Mum and Dad – please take me out for some Pork Pan BBQ”.

The boy’s coach, who took the children into the caves after football practice, also shared a message from underground.

“To the parents of all the kids, right now the kids are all fine, the crew are taking good care,” he writes.

“I promise I will care for the kids as best as possible.

“I want to say thanks for all the support and I want to apologise to the parents.”

Four of the weakest boys have been rescued from the depths of the Thai cave so far. Hopefully more to come as the day goes on.

  • The family of the first four rescued boys must be so relieved to have been able to embrace them again. The coach has been heavily criticized, but it looks like he’s taking very good care of the kids now. Let’s hope for more good news later today indeed!!
