It can be hard to get your roast pork succulent and perfect every time but there is a solution; cook it in your slow cooker.

  • I have tried roast pork in the slow cooker and we love it. I mix a bbq and plum sauce into it and we end up with a flavoursome pulled pork. Our fave is probably roast lamb with a mint sauce and rosemary flavour. I made that yesterday and we have leftovers for today. Yum.

  • I love my crackling so I’d probably have to cook that separate. I’ll try this but I think I’ll use a fork instead of my hand to hold the roast while I carve it.

  • It looks yummy but I would miss my crackling.
Ive always thought that we have to have some sort of liquid in the cooker but i might give something like this a shot and see how I go.

  • My favourite slow cooked dish is the classic osso bucko. A lovely hearty Winter dish.

  • I could make this for my hub once, but then I don’t know if he can eat this amount on his own.

  • I do a lot of cooking in my slow cooker but roast pork isn’t one of them. Roast pork just has to have crackling. I do mine slowly in the oven for 8 to 12 hours and the crackling is superb.

  • Hmmm.. Delicious! I love cooking pork in the slow cooker. Also lamb! It turns out so soft and tender!

  • I would never have thought of cooking “roast” pork in a slow cooker. I suppose you could “score” and baste it with a little oil on the top and rub salt into it. You will need to start it off with some moisture in the bottom or it will stick and burn.
