I’ve always used a top-loader, because it’s easier to throw something in while the cycle’s going, if I’ve forgotten to add it. I used a front-loader while I stayed at a friends house for a few days, and it was certainly quieter than the top-loader, and she said it used less water. If this is true, a front-loader that you can add items to while the cycle’s going, then I’ll definitely consider it when we need a new washing machine.
