  • I am surprised the bikini showed at the top has such “long” bottoms. Most have been pretty skimpy during the last few years. At least with the older styles more of your skin is protected from the sun. No thought of that would have been given when they were designed. That design was classed as modest.

  • Love it, really cool to see the evolution and today we embrace swim suites from all decades. My fav is the 1970’s, bikinis with a caftan on top.

  • I’m loving the 50s swimsuit, it’s more what I wear now and suitable to my changed figure! I was a child of the 70s and definitely wore the fashion swimsuit of the day – the bikini in bright colours, right through until the 90s! I love the variety that’s available now.

  • Didn’t see what I wore on your video during the 50’s. I used to wear quite a lovely two piece – it wasn’t called a bikini in those days – but it was high legged, low slung and had a boned bodice top.
I loved it and wore it for a couple of years and then the ‘itsy bitsy polka dot bikini’ came into vogue.

  • ilike the 50’s definitely some funny styles would have been harder going to the beach with what they had to wear in the early years!

  • wow it’s amazing to see how fashion goes in circles! – I found my favourite to be the 1960’s and 70’s – I love the california beach party vibes that were often portrayed in films – would have been so cool growing up then
