Daydream Island Resort has officially reopened and we think we’ve got our next school holiday travel destination sorted!

It’s one of the most beautiful islands in the Whitsundays and now Daydream Island’s resort is officially open for business after a long renovation following Tropical Cyclone Debbie. The 277 room resort overlooks a picturesque coral lagoon and has plenty of activities on offer for all the family!

A Little Slice Of Paradise

The new resort has an eco-friendly focus, with the surrounding lagoon home to incredible sea life including starfish, crabs and stingrays. “We wanted the new Daydream Island resort to reflect the beauty of its surrounding through the architecture, design and dining direction,” the resort’s general manager Dawson Tang told Travel Weekly. This is definitely a family-friendly holiday destination with an eco-warrior inspired Kids Club for those aged 4-12 years allowing children to get amongst the incredible natural environment.

Relax And Unwind

We think the best part of the new resort is the underwater observatory, allowing guests to see beneath the ocean’s surface and discover the world beneath. The new pool, tropical gardens and Instagram worthy bar only add to the appeal and if you’re looking for a holiday without the kids the resort also has an adults only section.

After such devastation in the wake of the cyclone, we think the new resort looks AMAZING! Who needs to head overseas when we have such an incredible paradise in our own backyard?

  • I visited day dream island when I was a child and I loved it! I am now looking at bringing my two boys there for my sons 10th birthday. My youngest will be 1 and a half so I’m just wondering if it’d be suitable for him as well and if anyone has any traveling tips or advice for coming here?

  • We went to Magnetic Island for the day and enjoyed the tranquility. One of the other tourists picked up sticks and made diagrams using them. He had a great imagination. We all joined in and had a great time
