Hello!

I don’t know about your little ones, but my boy’s love the “We’re going on a Bear hunt” book and I thought it would be super fun to turn that idea into an Easter hunt activity. The beauty of this is you don’t have to restrict the items to just chocolate!

I like to give one keepsake for Easter together with chocolate.

So let’s get started.

Decide on your treats, chocolate, a small plush bunny, pyjamas etc. Keep the keepsake for the end and final find.

Make up some cute phrases that are easy to follow. For the older children that can read, having a written note from Easter bunny is very exciting!

“We’re going on an Easter Hunt, come and join in the fun”

The Easter bunny has travelled through:

  • The front gate= hide a small egg for them here
  • The front garden= let them search the garden beds for their treat
  • The back garden= hide an egg in a pot or on a chair
  • The lounge room= hide amongst some toys
  • Their bedroom= hide the final gift under their pillow.

Add or omit as many things as you like, there are no rules!

This idea could also be extended to your local park to enjoy with friends and their children.

Make it simple, make it fun! All children love an adventure; why not create one for them?

  • I always had so much fun with the Easter egg hunts. The best ones were when they started school and I would stand eggs in their school stuff. It wasn’t touched til school started again so they still had eggs. I think they loved it

  • My kids love the neighbour hood Easter egg hunt, I am sure they almost love the hunt better than the eggs

  • We did something similar to this in a local community park a few years ago, when a group of us who had been friends for over 20 years, decided to have a get-together picnic at Easter. Adults and kids alike had so much fun with the Easter Egg hunt. It’s not just for little kids.

  • I’ve hidden some small easter eggs around the house for Sunday morning. We went to an organised ‘easter egg hunt’ today but I was so disappointed. All they did was throw eggs onto a grassy area and let the kids run and pick them up, nothing about it was a ‘hunt’

  • I love this idea, thank you.
My son has been singing the bear hunt song for the past week and his little sister will be so excited to go hunting with him.

  • One year I forgot to put the eggs out from the easter bunny. Quick thinking the next morning I said that he must of hid them and you need to get dressed and go look for them. While they were out the front looking with me, daddy was quickly throwing them around the backyard.
