Hello!

Getting stuck into arts and crafts is a great way for children to get away from screens and let their minds flow and now, thanks to Wonderful Pistachios you have a chance to WIN a “Creative Safari” for the whole family PLUS a year’s supply of delicious Pistachio’s!

Laleh Mohmedi, the creator of Jacob’s Food Diaries loves getting crafty with her son Jacob and is sharing her creativity with the world via an Instagram account. Jacob’s Food Diaries hosts a colourful display of home made meals using organic foods and is a reflection of Laleh’s love of family, food and art that you have to see to believe!

Why does Laleh think creativity is so important?

Laleh thinks it is always incredibly important to take time out of her day to be creative and believes that by creating art on a plate, her son, Jacob, has learnt about many popular fruits and vegetables and how he can use his imagination in a number of ways.

How can I encourage my children to use their creativity on a daily basis?

A child’s imagination is endless, so it’s important to find ways of nurturing it. For example, create a collection out of seashells, stamps, or rocks, or take your child to a cultural site where they can be inspired by another person’s artwork – make sure you take note of what your child LOVES doing and then build on it. One way that Laleh encourages Jacob to be creative outside of cooking is by creating all sorts of characters out of recycled household goods such as egg cartons and socks.

Becoming the ambassador of the Wonderful Pistachios #CreativelyGetCrackin competition is another way that Laleh has encouraged Jacob to sit with her and think outside the box.

Together Laleh and Jacob crafted a beautiful Chameleon out of leftover shells, fuchsia eucalyptus, puffy paint, molding goo and modeling clay to kick off the #creativelyGetCrackin competition. Laleh believes the competition benefits families by encouraging children to take a break from technology and #CreativelyGetCrackin.

Want to know how you can get involved for your chance to WIN?

The Facebook competition encourages families to create a work of art from leftover pistachio shells – colour them, paint them, make them into crowns, landscapes, portraits, bracelets – the possibilities are endless! Upload a picture or video of your masterpiece on Facebook and share it with the hastag #GetCreativelyCrackin for your chance to WIN!

Don’t forget that this amazing prize includes a “Creative Safari” for the whole family. The winning family will be hosted at a farm stay, where you will be encouraged to play with animals, participate in art classes and theatre trips. The lucky winner will also receive a year’s supply of pistachios! The competition closes on the 29th of January 2016 so GET CRACKIN!
