UK photographer regularly photographs pregnant women as part of her job. This beautiful image both stunned and shocked the world.

Just three days after the birth of this little one, Helen was invited to capture some photographs of her client. She wanted the photographs to celebrate the c-section that had saved both of their lives.

Helen shot a beautiful photograph of the newborn baby curled up in the mother’s lap. Just above the baby’s head, you can see the c-section wound.

The photographer later shared the image on her Facebook page. Of course the post went viral and has now been shared over 67,000 times.

The image has attracted its share of negative comments.  Some reporting it to Facebook as ‘offensive’ and requesting its removal. Thankfully, Facebook has ignored these requests. It has also attracted comments from people who feel the image is sexually inappropriate. Pffft!

Even Ashton Kutcher shared the image.

We think it is a stunning image! For more beautiful images after birth CLICK HERE.

  • Why is it that some people think you haven’t had the true birth experience when you have a c section, I had a c section as I was enduced for labour but Bub didn’t drop even after breaking my waters so ended up having a c section and all I was worried about at the end of the day was Bub, not how he came out!!!

  • Why can’t we just celebrate all types of births .. Our little wonders are just miracles to be celebrated natural or c csection .. I had both my girls natural and it actually annoys me when people make negative comments about csections.. Spread the love for all mums.. And back on the subject to the photo.. I thinks a beautiful photo..

  • I wish I had captured some images from my emergency C section and my planned C section. My scar had nearly disappeared after the first one when I had the second and now 2 months post the second C section the scar is again almost gone (lucky me I guess).

  • Such a beautiful image! I ended up with an emergency c-section with my first. My stomach did not look like that though haha. I have serious jiggle belly.

  • Seriously, if someone feels like this is sexual or offensive then they should take a good look of where they came from whether natural birth canal or c section.

  • I think this is beautiful. I had an emergency c-section with my baby & I had people tell me that I wasn’t a real mother because it wasn’t a vaginal birth. I wish I had the opportunity to get photos like this made to celebrate my birthing experience.

    • I don’t see the drama, it’s a beautiful picture. All births should be celebrated regardless of how they happen

  • Each to their own, not my cup of tea. Good on her for owning her own body and doing something that made her happy.
