Been asking and the mother to be won’t tell? Ever wondered one of the reasons why we wanted to keep it a secret? Watch and learn!

Did you share names before your baby was born?

  • Nope….only with my Mum.
A friend of mine was asked by a family member what she had planned for her sons name and she was devastated when 2 months before she gave birth the family member gave birth and stole the name….OMG

  • No not at all, and thankfully so especially because my mother in law thought the name ‘Eliza’ was not trendy enough. She said, “why don’t you name her with a more trendy name?”. My husband and I are more than happy with the names we chose and it didn’t matter what she thought or anyone else.

  • We kept it quiet and we treasured it until we were ready to share it.

  • Names get stolen as others will suddenly decide they like the name too. Also You could get the name wrong, when the baby is born the name may not suit them then there are the questions thought you were going to name the baby this and you have gone with that. The name may not be decided, with our 3rd we could not agree on the first name if a male but had middle names picked out.

  • I think this theory is quite right. If they don’t like the name you have chosen you could be made feel guilty, especially if you’ve chosen an unusual one. Then friends discuss it behind your back and you find some of them are influenced by others. You then get “….said…..” ggrrr !!! Never again!!!

  • We told our families of our chosen names, but didn’t tell others until after our baby was born.

  • It’s just nice to be able to make a proper announcement of it.

  • Haha that’s hilarious! It was like that when I was pregnant with our 3rd. Because of my husband’s job and the people he deals with it was hard to pick names
