One beauty salon has decided that enough is enough and kids just are NOT welcome through their doors.

Celebrity eyebrow queen, Kristin Fisher, has decided to ban children from her acclaimed brow salon in Sydney’s Double Bay.

Writing on her Instagram page, the brow expert explained why she is ‘imposing a new rule that clients must not bring children or babies to their appointments’.

‘Recently, we have had times where there have been ten children in the salon at one time, all unattended, whilst their mothers get treatments done,’ Kristin wrote.

‘It simply isn’t fair to the other clients who have come solo, who for them this is their monthly treat/splurge and want some peace and quiet whilst they have their brows or lashes done, nor is it fair to my staff who are constantly chasing after kids and nursing babies (even though we secretly love this – they also have to answer the phones and re-book clients!).’

The brow expert continued to say that recent times in the salon have seen ‘kids run onto the street, we’ve had clients leave midway through their appointments as they’re too annoyed about the noise being made and we’ve had mums call and complain saying their brows are crooked after they’ve been nursing a squirming baby the whole appointment.’

As a mum herself Kristin acknowledged how difficult it can be for mothers to get away for an hour for an appointment.

‘That being said, I make sure all of my “me time” appointments are just that – for me,’ she said.

Kristin concluded the post by saying she hoped the salon’s ‘beloved mummy clients’ can find alternative childcare prior to their appointment, so that people can enjoy their brow or lash experience ‘relaxed and child free’.

Followers were divided on their opinions with some agreeing that taking your child really wasn’t a good idea, and others arguing that some people simply have no choice.

Kristin has thanked her clients for their support and understanding since making her tough decision.

  • This is one place I would never take my children – too many things for them to hurt themselves with.

  • Why would you even think it is ok to take kids to a salon? If you can’t watch your children when at any type of appointment, then it isn’t appropriate for your children to be there. I am due to get my eyes tested but because it is an appointment that requires me to take my eyes off my children, I won’t go and get it done unless my husband is there to have them. It isn’t even just about the inconvenience to other people, it is about the safety of your children!
I don’t get eyebrows done or anything like that, but I do occasionally get treated to a nice massage and I would be shitty if there were kids making noise when I am trying to relax and enjoy my rare alone time.

  • I’ve been on both sides. Taking my kids and loving the me time so I can understand both sides but I’ll definitely prefer to go on my own to have a little time out.

  • While some mums just don’t have anywhere to leave their kids to get a bit of me time, but there are hairdressers that visit homes for these mums

  • I agree that her clients may would like time out!

  • I can understand this decision. It would make things easy for everyone if the kids were left at home

  • I agree that kid’s shouldn’t be with the Mum’s while getting their eyebrows done. I’m sure the Mum’s could find a friend who could look after their child for them and they could return the favour.

  • People should look after their own children

  • I completely understand! I wouldn’t dream of going somewhere like this and bringing my child it’s crazy! Only time I’d consider it is if it was just a hair cut and I knew it wouldn’t be long and in this case my children would know how to behave and sit on the chairs and wait as we do when I go to the dentist.

  • I guess I can understand where she is coming from.

  • Sometimes you have to prioritise your children! Other times you have to simply get a baby sitter. Not to be too condescending or presume things but if Mammas in double bay can afford to go and get their eyebrows shaped then they can surely pay / organise for babysitting!

  • Absolutely fair for all concerned, including the kids who clearly don’t want to be there!

  • I definitely don’t take kids to beauty appointments. They would suck all the fun out of it.

  • Yep that’s fair. For treatments like that, the last thing you want is to take your kids with you, I know I wouldn’t

    • It is relax time and make the most of it!

  • It sounds as though it really got out of hand. 11 kids at one time! Good to make rules.
