Ahhh…those bouncy castle memories from when you were a kid. Don’t you love them!?

Bouncy castles have been around for years, at fairs and carnivals, providing hours of entertainment – jump from wall to wall, floor to floor, crawl, flip and bouncing some more. All in a fun and safe environment.

Whether you’re the one doing the jumping or you’re a parent sitting back and watching the kids squeal with laughter, there’s no denying that bouncy castles bring a smile to everyone’s faces.

If you’re planning a birthday party or party event, hiring a bouncy castle can be the perfect way to make an impact. Whether it’s for your kids or yourself (because let’s face it, adults need some fun too) – there’s a bouncy castle out there we can all enjoy. Here’s why you should consider a bouncy castle for your next party event:

Ridiculously great fun – for adults and children

Kids can’t have all the fun!

While bouncy castles are generally hired for children’s birthday parties, there’s no harm in considering one for an adult party too. And many people do go ahead with the idea and love it! But for those parents who are wanting one for a kid’s party, you can still find a way to squeeze your way into the fun too.

Every party needs an element of fun and bouncy castles provide unlimited amounts of it.

Takes the hassle out – anytime, any day, anywhere

Providing you do the initial research first, hiring a bouncy castle is a stress-free way to add value to an event and give your kids the time of their lives! Bouncy castle hire doesn’t just have to be in suburban areas either – if you live in the country or a remote location, you can still have access to all the fun!

One of the great things about bouncy castle hire is you don’t need to organise any other entertainment.

Look for a company that can cater for your event despite your remote location. You can find pre-designed packages to suit your event or create your own package to do something a little unique. Keep in mind you will need to have adequate power on site within 20m of where you want it set up.

Make sure you choose a company that complies with your local council’s health and safety requirements, has insurance and can offer bouncy castle safety tips. A reliable company will ensure all delivery, set up and pack up is included in the package too. Some places will even offer a bouncy castle operator, at an additional cost, to help on the day.

Makes the event memorable

One of the best things about bouncy castles is they create happy vibes! They can keep the kids entertained for hours-on-end and you may find that they won’t stop jumping until they’re exhausted.

The great choice of bouncy castles – from standalone units to challenging obstacle course packages – makes hiring the right one for your event easy, and will leave a lasting positive impression. Your party may even inspire someone else to hire a bouncy castle next time they need entertainment for their own child’s birthday party.

Ability to cater for any theme

Remember when you were a kid and the choice of bouncy castle themes that were around? They were all fun of course, but the variety now will blow your mind! First you want to consider the size of the bouncy castle and where it’s going to go. Consideration of power and space requirements are key to a successful bouncy castle event. After you’ve determined the size and budget, there’s many themes and styles from which to choose.

There’s favourite kid’s characters like Scooby Doo, Batman, Looney Tunes and SpongeBob and then you have the option of bouncy castles with water slides incorporated as well. The creativity and ideas are limitless, so hunt for what’s right for your event. And if the bouncy castle is for an adults-only event, there’s themes specifically designed for that too.

Encourages health benefits

We don’t usually hire bouncy castles for anything but entertainment – but believe it not, there are health benefits involved in using them. Encouraging kids to jump, crawl, run, bounce and play, all helps in contributing to their physical fitness.

It also develops strength and better coordination from learning to balance on the bouncy, air-inflated surface.  Most children will play on bouncy castles until they are too tired to go further, or the party ends and it’s time to go home.  That’s good for parents as well, gaining a little sanity saving quiet time while the kids nap and re-energise.

Teaches healthy socialisation skills

Whether your child is a social butterfly or shy and cautious, play time at parties helps teach healthy socialisation skills. Interacting with other kids through laughing, playing, bouncing and falling over is all part of the fun. There’s no competition or challenges, just fun-fuelled play time with other kids.

The more your child participates in these social situations through activities that involve fun, laughter and physical activity – the more they develop healthy skills that set them up for life.

  • We haven’t hired one but our kids have been to a few parties with them. Very tired, happy kids when they come home. Definitely look into the hire company though. Watch for one with insurance and safety standards, and check their equipment meets minimum safety standards like electrical test and tag on their power cords. There are some operators that don’t.

  • Great fun – but make sure they are well anchored – children do get hurt if they start to blow away.

  • No, I never hired a bouncy castle for a party myself, but we did attend parties where a bouncy castle was hired. I have to say that all the kids had much fun and that it seems stress-free indeed. Of course you need to supervise your kids, but that’s ok (as is needed on all other parties as well).

  • Not a huge fan of jumping castles for parties, but they are a lot of fun for children at shows and fetes.

  • I’m not a big fan of these becuase there has been too many accidents, especially when the wind decides to create a very dangerous situation. You need a very sheltered area and constant supervision is a must.
