No I wouldn’t have felt threatened at all. I can totally understand why this mum had her boy with him and think it wouldn’t have to be necessary for her to explain herself in such details. I can actually get rather furious about this ladies shortsighted attitude, which can be so hurtful and damaging.

I think the critical issue might be how old he looked – his mum’s note suggests he looked older. Although I fully support a young boy being there, if I thought he was a teen I might have been uncomfortable.

I don’t think any Mother needs to explain why their children is with them in the Toilet or Change Room. It is a matter of safety.

I can understand why this mother had her children with her in the change room.

I have had a similar instance where a mother insisted on bringing her kids into the gym change room in peak period. Ladies chose to walk around completely naked in the change room to get to the showers &its completely unacceptable for a child to be in the change room given that circumstance. Surely the mother could have used a unisex bathroom, rather than a gym change room.

  Are you aware that facilities do not have unisex facilities???. He was in there to go to the toilet etc.. She cannot send him into the male ones alone because of his disabilities. Some places have the toilets and change rooms in the one area. I know of one that definitely does.

I wouldn’t have felt threatened at all. I think that woman exaggerated.

I feel safer if the kids where in the same facilities as their parents etc there is nothing wrong with him being in there. Keep up the good work i give parents a lot of credit who have kids in that situation

The lady had every right to take her child in the toilet.

No, no threat at all from a little boy in the ladies change room. I think we all need to take a step back and try to be more understanding of people and their situations

I have used unisex toilets here and overseas and could not care less about children being in a toilet or change room with their parent. Making sure children are protected and cared for is important and they need to be with them. Facilities everywhere need to better cater for everyone and businesses also need to educate their patrons.
