Hello!

We’ve all had those times where drive-thru McDonald’s has saved the day. Well, now Woolworths has upped their game to introduce the ultimate in convenience shopping – their drive-through grocery service.

This new offering will help increasingly time-poor shoppers to grab what they need with minimal effort.

Woolworths has rolled-out this new service to stores in Sydney and Melbourne and there are plans to expand the drive-through in other areas within Australia.

As reported in the Daily Mail, all customers need to do is make an order via the Woolworths app and then head to their local store to collect the goods.

And they don’t need to even get out of the car or even switch off their engine. They just need to make their way to the designated collection place and staff will bring the shopping out to the car.

Life-Changing For A Parent

Any parent who has tried shopping with a gaggle of kids or had a sleeping baby or child in the back seat, will know that this is an absolute game changer.

The Woolies drive-thru is now on offer at stores in Warringah Mall in Sydney and Melbourne’s Brunswick, Camberwell, Williamstown, and Greensborough.

Woolworths Head of Online Operations Lisia Roth said: ‘We’re always looking for new and innovative ways to make shopping easier for our customers.

‘Not only do customers want ultra-convenience and personalisation, they also want the experience to be painless and seamless.

‘What this means is that customers, for example, can do their grocery shopping online on their way to work and it will be ready to be picked up by the time they are on their way home.’

  • It does sound good, although if you spend enough, you get super cheap delivery to you’re house which is even better…

  • I love this for those newborn days or when little ones are asleep but you need something.

  • I only just learned earlier in the year of Coles Click & Collect. I had no idea. Not something I would ever use though.

  • I’m sure a lot of people will find this handy. I prefer to shop in store.

  • Not for me I like to pick my own groceries to get the best produce and the longest BBD

  • I still need to see the produce I am buying – sorry, I won’t be opting in to this idea at all.

    • It is also time spent teaching children about food. budget and shopping.

  • Not really different to parking in the designated areas in front of the supermarket where they will bring it out to you. Not that the one closest to me has it. I like pick up as it saves taking my youngest around the supermarket, though I do get fruit and veg myself so I don’t end up with moldy strawberries picked by someone else etc.

  • I’ve been doing this at my local Coles for quite sometime. You park in their designated bays, call the designated number and wait for them to bring your pre-picked order out. It ca take up to 10 minutes for your order to come out at times but it’s better than spending over an hour in store with my kid stuck in the trolley.
Glad Woolies are brining it in too. Their current click and collect is good, but you still have to get the kids out of the car.

  • If I can pick up groceries without getting out of my car then I’m in

  • How many years behind are you Woolworths? Coles have had this for ages. It’s called Click and Collect. Really not a drive thru if you think about it.

  • Could be great for people with little time or a bunch of small kids to take along to the store. I prefer shopping myself, don’t even order groceries online.

  • Is this click and collect in the way coles have it? Because it’s always been superior. Our local Woolies you have to go inside and wait 15 mins. Coles, roll up, call a number, and they bring your goods out in 5.

  • Great idea for time poor people but I would be worried about all the car fumes while waiting in line to pick up if it is busy, hopefully they will have it timed so you don’t have to wait too long. I tried pick up in store once and waited for ages. I prefer shopping myself or online with delivery.
