An 11 year old girl is fighting for life after falling from a moving vehicle.

Kate Waterworth suffered serious head and facial injuries when she fell off the back of the moving vehicle after she was dropped off at a friends at Sydney’s North Shore.

As her mum drove away Kate climbed onto the back of the vehicle for some unknown reason, reports 9 news.

Her young brother was in the back seat of the vehicle at the time.

She was treated at the scene and then placed in an induced coma and transported to Westmead Children’s Hospital.

Police continue their investigations.

We hope little Kate makes a full recovery.

  • obviously either the driver doesn’t know the rules or doesn’t care. Did the girl’s mother see her daughter climb onto the outside of the vehicle.

  • Do hope she will be alright. Did she not want to go where she was dropped off? Guess we won’t know the answer to that fir a while.

  • Aw bless, hope and pray she makes a full recovery. Kids can do silly things, not knowing what the consequence could be.

  • How terrible, the mum must have driven off quite quickly, and didn’t check behind her?

  • I hope she makes a full recovery. Kids don’t often think about the consequences of their actions and she probably just did it thinking it would be funny or to make her brother laugh. Thinking of her and her family

  • 11 is old enough to know better. I’m sure she was thinking it’d be funny, but sadly it really really wasn’t! Hope she makes a full recovery!
