A ten-year-old girl has fought off two men who tried to kidnap her.

The young girl was walking along Sutton Road in Ashcroft just after 5pm when a white van pulled out from a nearby laneway and stopped alongside her.

A male passenger tried to start a conversation with her before the van continued driving and stopped near the footpath for a second time.

It’s believed the man and the male driver then got out of the van and grabbed the girl around the mouth and arm.

She bit and kicked the two men, causing them to release her before she quickly ran away.

The girl headed to a nearby friend’s house before running home, at which point the van continued to follow her.

Once inside her home, the van remained parked outside for a short time before leaving.

Officers attached to Green Valley Local Area Command were alerted and launched an investigation into the incident.

The first man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late 30s to early 40s, about 180-185cm tall, bald, clean shaven, with blue eyes and of a large build.

He was last seen wearing a red-coloured t-shirt and black shorts, and has the letter ‘C’ tattooed on the back of his neck.

The second man is described as having a dark complexion, about 30 years of age, around 170cm tall, with short curly black hair, brown eyes and of a thin build.

He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved red and blue-coloured striped shirt and dark-blue tracksuit pants, and has a tattoo including the letters ‘COT’ outlined in red ink running down one arm.

The van the pair were in has been described as having a black stripe running down the side, rusted wheel rims and only two windows on the vehicle, at the driver and front-passenger doors.
