Video has emerged of a baby breaking the record to become the youngest water-skier in the world.

At the age of six months and 26 days, Zyla St. Onge broke Parks Bonifay’s decades-old record of water skiing at the age of six months, 29 days.

In Zyla’s first attempt to break the record she skied nearly 19m on Lake Silver, in Winter Haven, Florida, last Friday.

The next day she skied a dominant 209 metres.

In footage released by the World Barefoot Center she can be seen wearing a tiny pink life vest while she holds on to a rail for support.

Her father, Keith St. Onge, wrote on Facebook: “We are very proud of our little baby girl Zyla!”

  • I personally cannot see how this would be good for a baby that young but it is pretty incredible.

  • I wouldn’t risk my kids doing this. Quite dangerous.

  • Soooo very cute. She is amazing but geez I wouldn’t risk my kids doing it.

    • I find it hard to believe that the baby’s back – spine or muscles are strong enough for this to be done without damage which may not present itself immediately. Will that be thought of when a baby appears to cry for no reason?

      • Probably not, it looks like it’s all about breaking world records at the moment. I hope I’m wrong.

  • Unbelievable! Not even 7 months! I loved seeing all those adults involved and checking for her security! :-)

  • Who would even think of putting a 6 month old on water skis? Too dangerous for my liking. Obviously the parents are just after the attention

  • Wow, talk about starting young!
