Who is Life Brain Training?

We are a Mum and Dad team that have a passion to help people just like us. Prior to starting our business, we struggled as parents with our eldest child who had emotional regulation issues. Searching for answers, we were introduced to NeurOptimal® sessions for ourselves to help with stress, depression and anxiety symptoms and got great results.

We were so pleased with the results we got that, we wondered if it would help our eldest child with her emotional regulation issues. After some research, we decided to rent a machine for 3 months and were so pleased with the results that we embarked on the certification training and Life Brain Training was born.

What is NeurOptimal?

NeurOptimal is a dynamical non linear form of Neurofeedback that was developed by Psychologists, Dr Val and Sue Brown from the Zengar Institute. It is not considered a medical device, but rather a tool, just like you would go to the gym for your body, this is like a gym for your brain, the difference being that it’s not hard work.

How does NeurOptimal work?

In its simplest form, sensors are placed on the ears and head to scan the electrical activity in the brain and you listen to nice relaxing music and the training begins.

It is important to note that nothing is being put into your brain or taken out and you don’t feel anything. The sensors monitor your brain activity (by scanning your brain 256 times a second) and right before it senses a shift in activity, the system will interrupt the music (this is the feedback part of the training). The interruption, signals to your brain that you have a choice to self regulate and come back to the present or
keep doing what you are doing.

A good analogy for this is if you are driving on the freeway and you veer out of your lane, you might hear the rumble strips on the side of the road signalling to you to get back in your lane if you want to (or if your intention was to pull over, you would ignore it!). What you do is 100% your choice and it doesn’t push your brain to do anything it doesn’t want to. Innately, our brains want to be better (just like a baby learns how to walk), our brains take the information it is given and the opportunity to self regulate.

What NeurOptimal can do for families?

NeurOptimal neurofeedback is designed to optimise brain functioning, helping to reduce stress, improve sleep, enhance focus and so much more. For the whole family, it is a gentle, non-invasive technology that helps support emotional stability, symptoms of ADHD and autism, stress management or even just enabling you to show up as a better version of yourself.

There is no age limit on who can use the system and as it works directly with your own brain and central nervous system, all results are individual and unique to what you need.

It is not a medical device, so there is no diagnosis needed, and as it is 100% natural, it is safe to use with medicines or other therapies.

At Life Brain Training, we love how NeurOptimal sessions have helped us and our clients and we can’t wait to support you on your journey.
We offer sessions in our Grantham Farm office in NSW however, we also offer machine rentals and support if you are not in NSW or if you would simply like to do the training in your own home. Whatever you choose, there is an option for you.

  • as it would be terrific for the family

  • Wow. What a super interesting device . Im sure rhis would be so beneficial to a number of people. Fantastic prize.

  • My youngest has definitely shown signs of being sensitive and emotional to loud noises, whilst being very introverted in new surroundings. This would be such a great way to identify and help support her with the results!

  • This sounds fantastic! My husband is currently working on a product with emotional regulation so this would be so great to use on our kids to aid in our research and see results

  • Our eldest child is currently under going a NDIS early intervention plan with OT & speech therapists both weekly due to speech delays and huge emotional and behavioural regulation problems. This would be an incredible tool to add to our TOOL KIT to trial and see if this improves him at all we would be forever greatful for helping our beautiful boy.
Photo included in application is our son during his OT session having the last 5 minutes to ‘cool and calm down on the swing’ before end of session

  • Love to try this with my 12yr old she’s just started high school and anxiety is a huge problem trying to regulate her feelings!

  • We love using technology in any way that can benefit our health and NeurOptimal may answers some questions for us or point us in the right direction

  • My 5 year old daughter has severe emotional regulation issues associated with ASD and anxiety issues. Sometimes it can get very taxing and trying on all of us and I struggle with having patience in those moments. I hadn’t heard of this NeurOptimal machine before and I am keen to give anything a try.

  • This would be so helpful for my granddaughter my daughter would love this

  • Such a wonderful concept, would love to use this on the whole family!

  • Because who doesn’t need a bit of brain zen? I could definitely use a machine to help me survive the toddler tantrums and never-ending laundry!

  • What an absolutely amazing machine! Having a 12 year old son with ADHD and ODD and now a daughter who may also be diagnosed with ADHD, I would love the enhance their life in the best way possible! Especially reducing stress and improving sleep issues. As a mum, the guilt is so real and I am determined to find ways to ensure my children have the best and happiest life possible.

  • Having a neurodivergent child myself with emotional regulation issues, I do believe this could work for some. However in my child’s case she would never allow to be connected with sensors.

  • I think this is a great idea

  • My 5-year-old with ASD level 3 could really benefit from the NeurOptimal machine. He often struggles with emotional regulation, sensory processing, and focus, and this technology offers a gentle, non-invasive way to support those areas. The real-time brainwave feedback could help him stay calm in overwhelming situations, improve sleep, and reduce stress. I’m hopeful it could enhance his ability to process emotions and sensory input, making everyday life a bit easier. It could also support his overall development, helping him feel more balanced, focused, and in control, contributing to a better quality of life.

  • Oh the places we could go if there was just a little bit more regulation. We would be over the rainbow and soaring high.

  • I have 4 children,
One has a number of diagnoses, including Autism, Global Developmental Delay, and speech delay.
Another is a genius and is also diagnosed with ADHD and Autism. Not only would I love to see how this would work for the two of them, I’d also love to compare their brain functioning with their other two siblings and even myself. I know since becoming a mum to two that require a lot more care and throw a lot of tantrums my way, my brain chemistry has shifted and would be fascinating to see how my brain works in the multitude of things thrown my way.

Basically I’d love to see if it can help bring us a more harmonious household with better communication

  • For our nonverbal 21 year old daughter to see if it has any answers for us x
