Hello!

Hi, has anyone been pregnant before being in the higher BMI bracket? (I am 140kg). Looking for advice and hearing how your pregnancy went. Thanks.

  • Hope all goes well for you. Your doctor will be the best source of advice and maybe a dietician if your doctor recommends it.

  • I was 130kgs at full term first time, 14 months later 131kgs, I was still healthy with no complications outside the norm, being big isn’t always bad if you actively look after yourself. I’m 43 now with almost 20 and almost 19 year old girls and I’m 84kgs but I had to go through 2 lap bands and a gastric bypass as my metabolism is complicated, just be healthy ignore mean doctors who have no bedside manner and remember to love yourself, your partner and that precious gift from God your Bubba good luck mummy!

  • Congratulations, very exciting time ahead for you. I had a high risk pregnancy but for a different reason. Ensure you keep up with all your required appointments and listen to your body throughout your pregnancy. Ask your GP if there is anything else you should be monitoring especially coming into summer.

  • Congratulations! I don’t have any personal experience, but I did have high risk pregnancies and think it’s important to consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice and guidance throughout your pregnancy journey. Your well-being and that of your baby are the top priorities.

  • I haven’t but I’d definitely put myself under the care of a dietician and be monitored closely by the doctor. I hope it all goes well.

  • Sorry I have no experience with that. May be good to express your concerns with your Doctor / Gynecologist / midwife
