Hello!

“My 21 month old son in the last couple of days has been crying at a drop of the hat. Its not like when he throws a tantrum. He is playing happily then the next minute he’s on the floor in tears. Even at night he is waking up screaming in tears. He is normally a fantastic sleeper. Is this normal behavior, I’m starting to get a little worried because he is normally such a happy child. It just feels that something or someone has made he feel so upset.” Do you have any suggestions for a 21 month old that is upset all the time?

  • My youngest is like this! it is worse when he is teething…

  • Could he be teething? Maybe he could be sick with something that isn’t seen by the eye (UTI ect..). Best of luck!! It can certainly be hard…

  • Is he maybe coming down with an illness? Or could he be hurting somewhere? Maybe he’s cutting teeth? Or maybe he’s tired? So many options, you’ll have to investigate more

  • what has changed ? New people that maybe you should analyse, new foods or products in the house maybe there is a reaction to??? Just love your bub, and my cousin always said it is stages not ages xxx

  • if there is no medical issue, it could be the terrible twos.

  • Sometimes its really hard to tell, maybe a trip to the doctors might help!!

  • Poor little guy, it sounds like he is in pain, so hard when they cannot tell you what’s going on

  • He might be getting teeth or it could be growing pains. Might be having trouble with his bowels. Check he is pooing at lest once a day. If he is constipated it can be hard for them to pass and they will hold it in and cause more pain until it has to be medically resolved.

  • My LO went through this at one stage> I think they are trying to communicate something and don’t know how to put it into words

  • Seems that they go through this phase. My daughter is a little younger started doing this. She sometimes has a big temper trantum and throws herself on the ground. After a few weeks she has settled down a little and taken to throwing her toys around instead!

  • i hope it has gotten better

  • Hope you managed to find the answer you were looking for.

  • Did you find out why this was happening?

  • How is he going now?

  • He might be frustrated, or maybe something hurts inside his body, maybe talk with your community health clinic and ask what they say.

  • Has he settled at all yet?

  • Maybe he is coming down with something, or even teeth pushing on his gums.

  • Did you find out why he’s upset?

  • Thanks heaps for posting, was also wondering. :P

  • He maybe getting sick. Have your go check him head to toe.
