I’m after some advice please on getting my twins into beds from their cots. I have been blessed with great sleepers and now at 3and 1/2 they still fit in their cots and are very happy stepping there. Neither of them have ever tried climbing out, hanging over the cot rail or any other dangerous things that would make it safer for them to be in beds not cots. But at 3 and 1/2 I’m thinking they need to move into beds and I’m not sure how to transition to this. I’ve tried talking to them about getting big girls beds, showing and explaining their older sisters bed and how exciting it will be for them to have the same bed as their sister. But both get very upset saying they want their ‘real’ beds (their cots) they have plenty of room in their cots but moving them to beds is something I have to do soon. My oldest was in a bed by 2 yrs old. I’ve gently introduced this into conversations over months, not pressured them and tried talking excitedly about picking their own Donna covers, sheets and blankets – all of which has failed and ended up with both in tears. Any ideas from other mums about how I get them used to beds rather than their cots. Thank you.
