Hello!

Just gave birth to my daughter last week. I had gestational diabetes and during my 32 week check i was suspected of pre eclampisa? At 35 weeks had to deliver via cs as my test results are going downhill.

  • I didn’t have any trouble with my pregnancy and decided to stop at one. I guess it depends on how strong your urge for another baby is, as well as the medical advice you receive.

  • I had to deliver my first baby early due to high blood pressure complications. I went back for seconds

  • All of my pregnancies were complicated in different ways, including being seriously lifethreatening. I did it three times. But you have to weigh the risks: after my third pregnancy, they’d increased so much that we decided no more.

  • Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl! Wether you go back or not will be a personal choice. Despite difficult/complicated labours I ended up with three children. I intended on having four when I first started but knew after my third it was time to stop. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to get past the negative experiences before you can even fathom the idea of going through it again and other times you can be ready to think about more almost immediately. Enjoy your little one and when or if it is time to think about adding to your family you will know.

  • Congratulations. It is all so new still for you. I’m guessing you have a bit of time to consider baby number 2. Talk to your doctor as each pregnancy is different. They will be able to advise you on possibilities. :)

  • If you really wanted another one but I would suggested talking with your Go and weighing up all the risks.

  • Hang in there, every pregnancy is different! Results are so worthwhile for the precious little one.

  • Congrats new mama! I have a very honest answer for you. I had a complicated pregnancy and birth which resulted in major trauma to me so I couldn’t do skin to skin and only met my baby 2.5 hours later. I swore I wouldn’t have another. Wind forward the clock 4.5 years. I desperately wanted another baby. We miscarried and then lost one through recommended medical termination and didn’t think it would happen. Then I got pregnant again when we weren’t expecting it. It was a more difficult pregnancy with an even more complicated birth. But I wouldn’t change my decision for the world. All the pain and suffering was worth it and I’m living to tell the tale and raise my two beautiful children. Was it hard? Very. Was it tough on my partner and first child? Absolutely. Could it have happened at a more difficult time? Not really given COVID! There were some excruciating times and I was terrified for the whole pregnancy that something would go wrong.. I kept getting tests that indicated more complications. The ultimate complication was undetected and led to a 4 hour surgery after my daughter was born. She was fine thankfully. I am still recovering but again, wouldn’t change my decision for the world. I am super glad I was able to have my daughter and seeing the joy on my son’s face that he was able to get a baby sister and how he dotes on her is magical. I’m not sure if this encourages or discourages you but I believe everything happens for a reason. I was not meant to have children naturally and here I am with a son and a daughter, both naturally conceived unexpectedly.

  • Congrats mumma on your new baby.
I had complication too on my first pregnancy, baby was at risk for still birth. But I’ve listened to my body well and always report to my doctor. Even with first complication, i’m still hoping to have another baby. With the past complication in mind I now know how to prepare for it. You have to look at the bright side of it if you want to have another baby. Enjoy your family time!

  • First of all congrats on your daughter !! As you delivered your baby just recently I would give it a bit of time before deciding on that. I would chat with the specialist about this. The decision is totally up to you and your partner in the end.

  • My second pregnancy was excruciating the whole way through! I had SPD and a compressed spine. I couldn’t imagine worse pain (and my first baby was induced- mostly drug free delivery!). Unfortunately for me the pain actually got worse after delivering my baby, and over a four year period my went varied from excruciating to just manageable. Anyway, my husband and I decided not to have any more babies due to the toll the second took on my body. Well nature had other plans and I am days away from my EDD. This pregnancy has been my easiest and most pain free of all three! So you just can’t tell if things will be the same, get better or worse. I honestly hope that the pain I am experiencing now will end when baby is born, unlike the last. Good luck, whatever you decide.

  • I had major issues and went for 2 more, it is up to you, but dont let it put you off if you are wanting more. I literally died on the operating table first time and had to perfect pregnancies the next 2 times. Dont let your first put you off , but talk to your gp. good luck. xx

  • Each pregnacy is diffrent…talk to your midwife and gp

  • my first was an undiagnosed breech, induced early due to high blood pressure. I had a second woth no issues. So my first didnt put me off having more

  • Even after a normal pregnancy your body and mind needs time to think and decide. Give yourself some time. not every pregnancy is same. My after 1-2 years you want another baby.

  • I will think about this twice.Sometimes after two to three years you will need one more sister or brother to your young one.
