Hello!

I have a 7 week old who is bottle feed (unable to breast feed) he spent his first week in hospital on a course of antibiotics. The hospital had him on S26Gold which he projectile vomited. I placed him on NAN Pro HA, less vomit & reflux but terrible nappies and tummy pains. My husband by mistake purchased the next tin of NAN Pro Gold, back to vomits & reflux. I tried Karicare AR, which is a thickened formula, no vomit or reflux, but lots of tummy pain and he was being lazy as it is thick he only would have small amounts every couple of hours. So back to a Karicare Gold formula! The Health Centre Nurse and Paediatrician (like myself) would like to just settle on one formula and stick to it. Aldi have their own brand which is $10 cheaper than all the known brands (I won’t use anything but the Aldi Nappies for quality & price). But is cheaper best when it comes to our children’s health & nutrition? Are all the formulas much of a muchness? Times are tight on a single wage and $10 per week is a big saving, has anyone tried or read reviews of the Aldi formula? Do you have any Aldi formula recommendations?

  • I’ve used Aldi formula for my 4 month old since she was about 4 weeks old. I compared the ingredients and they’re very similar. It mixes nicely, no foam or chunks. Like her sister she does have a little reflux but she’s a happy chucker so my MHN said there was no need to treat it.

    I recommend their formula.

  • I’ve been told it is done by heinz and heinz nurture was fantastic for my daughter. I know some of aldi’s baby food is re-packaged heinz. I’ve only heard good reviews on the aldi formula.

  • Give Heinz Nurture a go. We were recommended that by our paediatrician for my first daughter when we started comp feeding at 6 months. She had reflux quite bad. We didn’t have any problems with it and it was one of the cheaper priced ones!

  • Ask on a page “aldi mum” I used it when I stopped feeding my 8 month old

  • Cheaper is fine I used Heinz nurture on both my kids it’s only like 17$ and my two didn’t have any problems. Good luck 🙂

  • i have no babies now they are grown up but the only thing I would say with aldi is sometimes there products aren’t there long enough
