my best tip is keep it simple. you can still have a really nice gettogether without making it hard for yourself because you need to be able to enjoy it too
start buying presents now, and wrapping as you go – that way you will be done by chrissy. also, buy a few more items each shop so it is not a huge expense
If it’s a xmas party then make it feel like xmas. Put the xmas tree up, maybe have some bon bons if you’re having a sit down meal or at least some for the kids. Have a red and white or red white gold colour theme. but keep it simple. Ask guests to bring a salad or meat to share for bbq. Definitely a couple of pitchers of pimms or another xmas cocktail.
Keep it as simple as possible, may get your guests to bring a plate or a salad, helps you out with the preparation, as much as we all love to entertain it’s also nice to relax and enjoy like everyone else
Keep it simple, BBQ, lollie bags for the kids, backyard cricket and just get people to bring their own meat and throw a few salads together. Pretty lights or a few candles scattered around and of course a Christmas tree with lights. True friends don’t need all the over the top shit and glitter. It is meant to be a time to have fun and share the good times.
Best advice is to prepare prepare prepare. Have things ready to go the day before. And if you can, cook/prep the week before and freeze. If anyone offers to bring something, make sure you take the up on the offer. Keep cooking simple – if it’s a roast, do roast and veggies, cheese and crackers and dip, then something scrummy for dessert – trifle, pavlova (something that goes around to everyone).
