Hello!

I will be having my son’s birthday party at the local swimming pool centre. I will be inviting 11 of his school friends (boys and girls)
I really want to just enjoy things with my son and other parents and don’t want to be keeping an eye on other people’s kids. (I know that sounds bitchy, but watching them in the pool, getting them undressed, then dressing them, then too cold, too hot, where’s my towel, I’m hungry, etc etc NO THANKS!)

I just need a nice way to say on the invitation that a parent MUST stay the entire time and not drop and go? Help please!

  • Dont do a pool party then! but yes, they should stay.

  • Simply state that as its a pool party, for safety reasons parents are required to stay and help with the supervision

  • Having a pool party for —– birthday. As it’s at a pool, for safety issues, it is required parent stay to help supervise

  • I would write the invitation as normal and then down the bottom put a p.s. Due to safety reasons and guidelines of the “insert pools name” a child must be accompanied and supervised by a parent/guardian. Thank you :)

  • I think you should write the invitation to the child’s name and then Mr/ Mrs Surname.

In the details portion of the invitation I would then make it clear again that a parent is required to attend. You might be able to do this by identifying if there is an entry cost to the pool i.e. Child’s Name entry is $x and Mr/ Mrs Surname adult entry cost is $x.

  • Start with who the party is for, where it will be, what its for, time, date and day.
Eg We would love to invite you to Grans 90th birthday celebration. To be held at 95 Matheson Rd, Gatwick, on Saturday the 2nd Sept 2010. Start time is 6pm. BYO alcohol, food supplied.
    Hope to see you there

  • Mention something about safety of all children. And state parental supervision required at all times.

  • You must state on the invitation each child has to have a responsible parent present there are some good wording below from others.

  • if they are littlies, parents would be willing to stay anyway. So say “As there will not be a designated lifeguard for this party, it is encouraged that the parents stay to help supervise”

  • I find a lot of parents stay for birthdays generally now.

  • Maybe just be upfront ‘in the interest of safety mums and or dads are strongly encouraged to stay on & party with us’

  • *parents supervision is required whole time when child in pool.

  • Maybe add some sweet treats too; maybe cake to go with the coffee? ;)

  • (your son’s name) mum has only one set of eyes
If parent came too we thought it would be wise
Keep a look out and have some fun too
This party’a not just for your child, it’s also for you

  • This is something that all the parents have done in my daughters class…its not bitchy at all! Simple note on the bottom of the invitation: It is required that parents stay to supervise their child/ren. OR Parent supervision is required, thank you.

  • For safety reasons BYO Parent/ Adult.

  • Just say something like “For safety reasons, each child must be accompanied by an adult throughout the party”.

  • Tam_Watters that sounds great… I would use that!

  • Get cool in the pool

    Slap on some sunscreen
    and hit the deck for
    Son’s name
    Birthday shindig!

    We’ll be Grillin’ and a Groovin’…
    Splishin’ and a Splashin’…
But be sure to bring a parent
To keep an eye on the fun.

    Saturday, June 14th
    | one o’clock | Green Meadow Lane Pool |

  • Just state on there that it would be appreciated if parents could stay to supervise, I certainly wouldn’t be offended if this was put on an invitation that was given to my child.
