I ended up weaning my child at 3. It was too much. By 3 I was able to say no more mummy will give you cuddles instead. Call ABA for ideas – they will have some good suggestions!

If you have a husband, tell you son you won’t be home and daddy is looking after him………the idea being daddy can’t feed him so he will have to go back to sleep or have a water or normal milk. (not meant to sound mean) but the idea is, if it isn’t there he can’t have it. Works similar to dummies.

I recently in the last 3 months just stopped feeding my 2 year old daughter. I was doing the same as you. She was easy to give up and understand the night feed before bed, day but night was harder. I spent I think 2 weeks up and down by stopping night feeds. I offers a bottle during day and before bed and even during night but she wouldn’t do the during the night one. I just stopped her after her 2nd birthday and just said no more. Basically I just didn’t give in and after 2 sleepless nights she got it.it was tuff but the only way she could give it up like cold turkey. Wish you luck

I successfully weaned my 2 1/2 yr old toddler 3 weeks ago, same with your son he is not really happy with it on the first couple of nights but I just keep telling him no more and put up with his crying for a few nights now we both get to sleep continously the whole night not having to wake up for feeds. It is really hard at first but I think its thats the only way I could wean him. Just be firm when you say no more and you may have to sacrifice a few nights with less sleep.

Try letting him feed for a very short period and slowly reduce theamoumt of time each day for about a week . If he cries through the night try settling without boob or let him drink some water
