  • You could sell unwanted clothing, jewellery or toys!
Facebook marketplace is always a good place to start. There is also an app called Carousell which doesn’t have any fees.

  • Depends what time etc you have but you can do people’s ironing, make cakes for friends and family kids Birthdays, make homemade baking for people to time poor to do it themselves, as suggested you could do dog walking or online surveys etc. Maybe try a few things and see if they work for you. You can always trial run on family and friends.

  • Dog walking. There’s so many people who have dogs that don’t get walked regularly. Great way to get the kids out in the fresh air too.

  • I like to do surveys, reviews etc for a little extra cash. It’s not much – but fun at the same time. I earn probably 20 a week – hardly seems worth the effort!

  • Register with market research companies,it is fun and you get pay for one hour or two of your time.

  • Have a look at airtasker. There might be online jobs or even local jobs you can do. I often hire people through airtasker to pick up supplier and drop them to a building site.

  • I don’t know which state you live in and whether there is advice in all of them.
In SA there is a “Dept” where you can ask about the viability of what business you would to start before you do so. I think you have to know what you want to do first though. It needs to be something that there is not a big surplus of and has potential. Maybe contact your Local Member of Parliament and ask what the procedure for getting advice. Some may be away on holidays or working in their offices as I don’t think Parliament is sitting at the moment.

  • For just some extra cash on the side I do market research and surveys on line.. its not regular but is interesting and easy to do whenever you have time

  • I do transcription work at home. There’s also services you can do as a freelancer on upwork or fiverr if you have any skills.
I have a friend who does graphic design on those platforms.

  • Firstly, go thru your bills and check you are getting the best deals on insurance, phone, gas etc…sometimes you can make savings on these with a few phone calls and research.
Secondly, I do surveys…they can be sporadic and certainly not going to give a regular income. They do not pay much, but I generally can cash out for giftcards every month or 2 and it all helps.
Thirdly, sell your unwanted items on marketplace etc.

  • Could try minding other peoples kids if you’re at home and have the energy/capacity!

  • It’s hard to make serious cash, and I don’t know what your skills are. Maybe you could take in typing?

  • If you are crafty, you can set up an Etsy page and sell your craft. Always a popular site to sell thingson

  • I recommend survey sites. You definitely can’t make a living from them but if you do them while you’re watching TV, waiting in the car or a waiting room there’s a bit of money to be made.
Every few months I’m able to cash out with gift cards that really help with the grocery budget.

  • There are many survey sites you can participate in, write reviews, sell things on eBay, etc … but, they fill in more time than actually being money makers – yes, you can make a little money, but takes a lot of valuable time. Depending on how much spare time you have, and how much extra cash you want to make, these are good fun and interesting, but you’ll only make a few dollars a week …. wish I knew of better ways, I’d be doing it myself!

  • Surveys! Lots of sites around like pure profile, octopus, attapoll and valued opinions. It all adds up. You could also sell items on Facebook marketplace, gumtree or ebay like toys or clothes the kids have outgrown. Or start flipping op shop items to find them new homes

  • Survey?

  • I also do surveys. I don’t earn much, but this way I have some extra money at Christmas time for some gifts for my family.

  • I do stacks of surveys, competitions, product review’s. And I find it fun doing them too.

  • I do surveys online, forums and research. I just did one recently where I had to talk on a video and got paid $120. You can also do mystery shopping, sell stuff on ebay, gumtree or facebook market place. Have a garage sale. Get crafty and sell on etsy. Look at your talents and promote them.
