Bio oil is meant to be really good for healing scars.

Every wound and scar is different. They should have told you after discharge of the hospital after your surgery how to take care for your wound and scar. By any doubt just pop in by the Gp or ask the nurse at your doctors practice.

Scar creams or maybe vitamin e capsules maybe even eating healthy

I would either call the place that the surgery was conducted or a plastic surgeons office to get the answer for your situation. I have a son with a large forehead scar and my advice is only sideline to your question and is to recommend to use solid sunblock, preferably zinc cream (within social reason) to protect it from UV exposure as this will make it more apparent.

Bio oil is the best product I know of for scars

Thanks ladies for your suggestions, I asked a nurse and she said vitamin E cream works just as good as anything. I’ve been using some and it’s starting to help already.

Also; depending on the type of scar – a GP may be able to recommend or prescribe an ointment or cream?

I’ve found Bio Oil is wonderful for all kinds of scars. Most vanish others reduce greatly

Coconut oil is great or Bio oil, certainly worth getting the specialist scar creams

Vitamin E and rosehip oil l have used for my skin and scars.

i might try any natural oils such as coconut nut oil, carrot seed oil, theres alot of them out there. or just aloe vera, or canendula cream that might work too.

We got some special cream from the plastic surgeon after surgery (not for plastic surgery). It came in a little tube and cost a bit extra than other creams – but was well worth it. I do not remember the name of it – was many years ago.Might be worth looking into it.

Aloe Vera is a natural scar removal remedy due to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
Coconut oil is another excellent ingredient that can help fade scars, as is Vitamin E oil and Olive oil.
Lemon contains certain acids, which have healing properties that can help treat scars of all types and Honey is a natural moisturizer, making it an effective scar removal treatment.

Vitamin E cream and rosehip are great for lightening scars.

BioOil is truly amazing and has made a big difference to scars in our family. Its not expensive, but another economical solution is to get vitamin E gel capsules and prick with a pin to then rub the oil on scars. Your skin will thank you.

Bio oil works well on minor scar.. MY daughter has them all over her face from scratching nasty holes in her face and it seems to work well…BUt its a long process to get any results..

I always rub a strong Vitamin E cream into scars. It is a great way to reduce the visible scarring.
