I have had a good harvest of chillies…does any one know if I can freeze them?

  • Yes just make sure that they are airtight and they will last forever in the freezer.

  • Yes you sure can freeze them

  • You can, and you can also bottle them in vinegar or olive oil

  • You sure can, they are great, yum!

  • Yes you can freeze them, but if you’re going to use them in cooking, try & cut them up or grate them as soon as you take them out of the freezer, as they defrost really quickly, and can go a bit soggy, which makes them hard to cut or grate.

  • Thank you for these handy tips.

  • They freeze well. I have been freezing them for years and just take them out when I need to use them. Good luck.

  • Most definitely! They retain all the good stuff and sometimes even get stronger!

  • Most definitely and they will retain their colour, flavour and heat. Only downside is that they tend to become soft when defrosted so chop or slice when still frozen.

  • Absolutely. We buy Thai chili peppers in bulk and freeze them. And they taste just as fresh.

  • I actually had to look this up as wasnt sure but thought you couldnt boy was i wrong yes you can freeze them as they keep their colour and flavour, i looked on google and there is actually three ways to do it.
    1. Freeze them whole.
    2. Freeze them prepared ie cut them to how you like.
    3. Freeze them in ice cube trays, basically chop them up place in ice cube tray fill with water and freeze.
Well you learn something new everyday.

  • You surely can. You can either freeze them whole or you can chop them up and put them into an ice cube tray ready to pop straight into your cooking.
