Get you baby fully vaccinated. I had a friend who was a antivaxer and her baby got chickenpox and is scared terribly.

It just means you don’t catch it as bad should you get it. There’s always still going to be kids who don’t or can’t get vaccinated for whatever reason

Vaccination does not mean you can’t get it – Just means it is less severe. I remember having it as a kid ( still got 2 scars), when I was a kid, the vaccine didn’t exist and people even had chicken pox parties, for their kids would get it, so they would have them and then not hopefully get them again (people believe you couldn’t get it more than once).
It also depends on your anti-bodies.

Agree with the others. Small possibility of still getting a mild case. I am an adult who is not immune however so I need to get the vaccine. Never had it as a kid.

It is possible to still get chicken pox (varicella) even after receiving the vaccine. You are however to get a less severe case. This is a quote from the Australian Department of Health website
‘Breakthrough varicella is a case of wild-type varicella occurring more than 42 days after vaccination. Most breakthrough varicella cases are mild, with fewer lesions than natural infection. I think with all vaccinations they’re not 100% guaranteed to protect you but I’ve never heard of anyone getting Chicken Pox who has been vaccinated

Chicken pox isnt eradicated. You may be thinking of smallpox.

Vaccination is not 100% perfect, some people do not respond well to vaccines, some will still get the disease but more mild.

My understanding of vaccines is that you can still catch the diseases, you just won’t suffer severely from the symptoms. The number of anti vaxxers continues to grow so it’s inevitable to see an increase in once non existent diseases

If you child is vaccinated there should be no risk of them catching chickenpox. That is my understanding. It you child has contracted it I would ask your GP if there has been a faulty batch at all. I don’t know if I also prevents you getting shingles.
