Hello!

I am about to go back to work in 4 mths and am debating whether to choose a child care centre or a family day care for my 19mth old, wondering what some opinions on this are?

  • I think you will just know which is best when you visit each of the centres.

  • I have had my boys in both and I found the centre good but the family care a lot more relaxed and happier. I would much rather be picking up happy boys and not feel so rushed and like a number.

  • We chose childcare. There are pros and cons of each. Make a list of what those are for your family and go from there.

  • you just have to pick what right for you

  • You will have made your choice by now. The best way is to visit the day care centres and day care mum/s to see what they can offer your child, how well the children interact with staff etc. Some mums don’t get a choice as there could be limited places available. Also, ask other mums you know for feedback/recommendations.

  • I hope you are happy with the choice you made

  • It’s such a personal choice…

  • what did you end up choosing?

  • I would visit both and see which you prefer

  • Which did you end up choosing?

  • What did you end up choosing?

  • For me I would prefer the family day care.

  • I agree visit both to see what they are like

  • I’d be inclined to visit both and see which I like more

  • My son went to chidcare since he was 3 months and he loves it. They have lots of fun there.

  • But make sure you research them well and do surprise visits!

  • I prefer the child centres as they have more staff and more activities.

  • Visit both, and decide which one would suit your childs needs better. My daughter went to a centre and it was great.

  • family day cares are cheaper but i have found that day care centre have more activites for the kids and they can do more things plus there is more kids to play with where family day cares have a few kids of different ages and it is hard to do activities with the broad range of kids so they miss out on learning

  • I would visit both types for a day and get first hand experience with them both
