Vinegar and baking soda, spread baking soda over the stain, then pour vinegar over it, a bit of elbow grease and the stain should be gone

I buy a carpet stain remover in a spray as I find powders are messy however, I must admit I get the professionals in every 6 months. I’d be interested to see some answers here myself.

baking soda made int a paste is pretty good

Don’t laugh but I like wool wash, I wet a sponge, put the wool wash on the carpet, scrub out the stain or mark, then dry it as best as I can, then a few hours later vacuum, always comes up well

I have not tried it personally but as others have said here… Preen. Ive heard good reports about it.

I would recommend Vanish Carpet cleaner for removing any stains. I had great experience with it!!

Different remedies apply to different stains. What sort of a stain are you trying to remove?

I only use Vanish Preen Oxi Action Carpet Stain Remover. It work well.

I use Listerine for stains. If you’re looking for a homemade cleaner then 1/4 cup vinegar, 1/4 cup salt and 1/4 borax. For an all over carpet clean I use my steam cleaner. I’ve tried the Vanish Preen foam – isn’t up to the job.

IT really depends on the stain as to what to use. what is it stained with?
