I use a damp chux.

use the brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner, I use it to dust almost everything in my house.

sticky tape ? wrap around your hand with sticky part on outside and brush over the velvet , ive never tried except on clothes with lint on them , good luck ! 🙂

A lint roller ?

Wrap some thick packing tape around your hand sticky side out and roll your hand over the backing

exactly my thoughts! I use a wide sticky tape and give it a few runs over!

I was going to say sticky tape as well. I also use it to get lint off clothes.

i would get a damp cloth and lightly wipe over until the dust balls and then pick off

Thanks for the answers, I did try vacuming didn’t work, but you sticky tape answer was very helpful, it reminded me I have a Shticky in the cupboard that I had forgotten about, I used this to get most of it off and then sticky tape for the rest, looks brand new again, yay!

Try to vacuum the back – if it is dust if should come off

Use packing tape or narrow scotch tape. Just press it on and ripe it off, dust, hair, lint is trapped on the tape. Need to probably do it multiple times.
