Hello!

All things coffee. If you are a coffee drinker, Which do you prefer: Espresso or Instant coffee, and why?
Personally I prefer to make my espresso coffee at home myself. I can make it to my taste. I get disappointed when going to a Cafe and they haven’t set the grind right and the coffee being too bitter. It happens all too often that I may even stop at the servo instead for a $1-$2 coffee by machine. I do prefer the espresso coffee I make, but find instant coffee so much quicker to prepare as the espresso machine needs to heat up (not ready to go like a Cafe one).

  • I’m with you on this. I much prefer a homemade espresso coffee made at home with my own machine.

  • Definitely freshly grinded!! It tastes alot better and smells beautiful to.

  • I love instant in the morning (quick and easy to make) a cappuccino mid morning and an espresso in the afternoon made with my little one cup stovetop espresso machine for a little pick me up.

  • I personally like instant because it is super quick and convenient and i dont mind the taste. My partner loves the petrol station coffee bean machines however and like you spend the $2 every day for it :D

  • Instant is the way to go for me, super quick and convenient when you have a newborn too!

  • I don’t like instant coffee at all – I find it bitter and that it leaves a terrible after taste. So for me expresso all the way – and generally I like any from a cafe (I think that it feels more special because someone made it for me)

  • I prefer espresso. When I’m after something instant I would go coffee bags like the Robert Timms ones. They’re pretty good and are a bit better than your jar instant.

  • I love an espresso if someone else makes it. If it’s just me I usually opt for a quick instant.

  • I love my nespresso for this reason – I fund it a perfect coffee everytime. I will generally have 1 of these and 1 or 2 instant coffees in a day.

  • Agree with the disappointment. Shell coffee is often better than Maccas lol

  • Espresso! I just love frothed milk, but can make do with instant if there is absolutely no chance of getting espresso.

  • Prefer espresso, but for budget reasons often go with instant. If you want an instant that tastes bold and rich like espresso my favourite is the Robert Tim’s dark roast(haven’t tried the other blend). I too like to grab one from the servo, at six bucks a cup it’s too expensive at a cafe and the servo coffees are at least consistent.

  • I don’t like instant coffee at all. I enjoy coffees from cafes etc that I buy more than those I make (even with a coffee machine at home). I find that the taste is smoother and it doesn’t leave a bitter aftertaste that I find instant coffee has

  • I love my espresso coffee machine. I usually make one and take to work in a keep cup. Saves $$ too

  • I’m a coffee soon but not a good one. I but a coffee every day from the Cafe. It’s not so much the coffee… it’s the experience of walking to get it. And not washing up. But earlier in the year I switched to decaf. My loan cage is not very fancy and I was gobsmacked to discover they make my latte with instant de caf! Tastes great and really consistent. I guess I just like warm, coffee flavoured milk.

  • I prefer espresso coffee. I worked in a café for many years, which taught me how to create and love a good coffee. I don’t hate instant coffee and often drink the tastes nothing like a cappuccino Nescafé cappuccino sachets when I am at work, but I find them way too weak for me, so i have to add extra coffee to them.

  • I would say instant as it saves me so much time! But to be honest I would love to have an expresso machine at home as tastes so different and the smell of coffee is a lovely perfume to all homes

  • I prefer instant for pure ease of making. I also think machine made coffees are too strong for my tastes

  • I keep forgetting how our coffee machine works, so it’s instant for me.

  • We have a Jura machine, always perfect coffee, we do heat the milk in the micro for about 20 sec as we like hot coffee. I hate using instant coffee
