Hello!

Why are my coffees tasting metallic? I use long life milk decided to make coffee using my coffee machine… I have not used it for a while. I used some Harris coffee which was new, frothed up the milk and after making my coffee it tasted metallic, not nice! At first I thought okay not used to that coffee before so went back to my old coffee, froth up more milk… Wow yuk! It tasted like metallic again. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

  • Where do you store your coffee? I had a similar problem when I used to store my coffee on a shelf above my toaster and kettle. I think the heat rising from these appliances changed the flavour of my coffee. I now keep it in a cool dark spot and the flavour isn’t effected.

  • some good answers here ill be keeping this in mind if this ever happens to me.

  • This happened to me with tea too. I cleaned the kettle by soaking half a lemon in it and metallic taste disappeared!

  • Maybe you need to clean out the filters

  • Have you found an answer? If not maybe call the manufacturer?

  • Sounds like your machine needs a lime descale. You can actually find some samples of descalers online if you want to try it before buying it.

  • Interested to find an answer too

  • Descale and thorough clean should fix.

  • You need to discale your coffee machine.

  • If you haven’t used it in a while it may need a really big clean, I would pull it all apart and clean it thoroughly

  • try cleaning the machine out, vinegar and lemon works wonders

  • needs to do some descaling

  • maybe your detoxing?

  • I would try a clean and descale of the machine and kettle first.

  • I had that once from a hot chocolate. Turned out I had a hole in my tooth and the drink being hot was hitting a nerve. Weird

  • kettle… i would clean it or go buy a new one if buying a new one make sure you to boil water in it first than empty before your first use

  • or if you use raw sugar sometimes it tastes like that or tinned cvoffee

  • You can descale by mixing equal parts white vinegar and water and running that through the machine until it’s nice and clear. Then run at least 2 cups clean fresh water through to rinse

  • How do I rescale

  • I,m not pregnant you need to have sex no no no I,m not pregnant. 52 years old. No no
