Why are my coffees tasting metallic?

Hello!

Why are my coffees tasting metallic? I use long life milk decided to make coffee using my coffee machine… I have not used it for a while. I used some Harris coffee which was new, frothed up the milk and after making my coffee it tasted metallic, not nice! At first I thought okay not used to that coffee before so went back to my old coffee, froth up more milk… Wow yuk! It tasted like metallic again. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Not the milk I use long life all the time, except at work and there is no difference.

Most likely the kettle but if you are finding coffee tastes odd from other locations then perhaps its time for a health check.

Descale, and fresh clean water! If there’s old water in the machine it will taste yuck.

Yes your coffee machine manual will tell u how to desacale it. It should be done once a month and a quick clean twice a week

The machine needs descalling. Depending on the model for eg my nespresso pod has a specific rescale solution. Putting other substances through the machine will ruin the mechanics and destroy the coffee performance. Your best bet is to look online from the manufacturer of your machine and order the appropriate descale solution. Whatever you do don’t use any form of detergents to wash any of the coffee machine components

Needs a good clean out. If u have a pod machine u can get cleaning pods pretty much anywhere
