Hello!

Why are my coffees tasting metallic? I use long life milk decided to make coffee using my coffee machine… I have not used it for a while. I used some Harris coffee which was new, frothed up the milk and after making my coffee it tasted metallic, not nice! At first I thought okay not used to that coffee before so went back to my old coffee, froth up more milk… Wow yuk! It tasted like metallic again. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

  • its not pregnant it be the water

  • Ha yeah caffine tasted metallic when I sas pregnant

  • Or you could need your sugar levels checked too metallic taste in mouth could be high blood glucose levels.

  • Try descaling your machine…owners manual should explain how to do it

  • That was my thought too haha

  • The coffee machine probably needs a good clean out or perhaps it is rusting?

  • Maybe your coffee maker needs a clean out with some bicarb soda and water. 🙂

  • yeah, pregnant?

  • Pregnant?

  • clean youre coffee machine with hot water do this a couple of times and that should fix it

  • ? May need a clean? or something?

  • Give the machine and froth jugs a good clean if it still tastes bad buy a bottled still water use that and see what the result is.

  • We are another household that uses a coffee machine (true coffee addicts)
I have found that when the coffee tastes bitter usually the machine needs a good clean out including the filters.

  • Sometimes the chlorine in the water can react to things that dont normally, defiantly give it a clean first to see how it goes.

  • something clogged up in the coffee machine?

  • Scrub out the entire machine should fix it

  • A good clean out should sort it out.

  • I agree with the cleaning the machine

  • I’d suggest cleaning your coffee machine. Some machines have a cleaning/descaling cycle and you can also use vinegar (check if it is recommended for your machine though). Next step would be to check the water.

  • are there any filters you can clean? sometimes run hot water through it a couple of times.
