Hello!

Hi, I am thinking of cooking my Christmas meat (ham , pork and lamb) on the barbeque this year but as I have never done it before I am not sure of the time I have to cook it , please help me … I want to keep the heat outside this year not inside! How long should I cook Christmas meat for?

  • My brother in law cooks his Christmas meats on a weber and his are always tender and tasty!

I think he cooked a smallish turkey for 6 hours one time though, so may be worth having a google as to times. Make sure you have enough space to cook the meat you have – if you are just looking to do a glazed ham they do not take too long, it is more just to warm it than cook it as they are already smoked- usually. :)

Hope it turns out for you – what a great way to avoid heating up the house more than necessary

  • It would totally depend on the size of your pieces of meat. And how many you will be cooking at a time. The bigger they are, the longer they’ll take. And if you cook several pieces at once, it’ll also take longer. I should imagine it would be delightfully delicious tho, BBQ always adds an extra level of flavour

  • It depends on your meat and the weight of it. I would look up BBQ times for the specific meat you choose. Also it it raw ham or pre cooked ham.
