My daughter and I would make finger puppets and make up stories using the puppets.

I’m assuming you have done the obviois with playdough, painting, etc. There are lots of ideas on pinterest, things like making magic window bags (basically a sealed kitchen bag filled with dishwashing detergent and hidden treasures – stick it to a window for toddler fun). You could try making potato stamps, baking, interactive scenes (eg. Farm set up on a painted board).

my little one is all about paint! and I mean all about paint!! its cute to see them experiment, gluing is fun too, try working with different textures too like sand, seeds and things like leaves

My boys loved play dough at that age.

You could do what child care centres do. Collect bottle tops from milk/juice bottles, patties for baking, felt, paddle pop sticks ftrom ice blocks washed or buy from craft or $2 store, cellophane and cut it up, gift paper cut up, use all of these for collages or extras to add to drawings. Make noodle necklaces, bottle top necklaces.

Felt boards are awesome! We bought a variety of felt and made our own items to create a picture 🙂 My 2 year old loves it!

Make a fish out of a brown paper bag. Get your child to draw/paint/glue dots or anything on the paper bag. Draw an eye on the both sides of the bag. Tear up newspaper and fill bag. Tie a band around the opening of the bag to make its back fins.Another great idea is to make finger puppets out of cylindrical tubes and make a theatre from a large box. Build roads in a town or city from cardboard boxes. Make up stories using the toys you have made. One tip I found really helpful is look with your kids at shows like Playschool, Mr Maker, Art Attack. I found that these shows are really great and I myself actually did some of the projects just for fun.!

I get the kids to collect things from the garden, Rocks leaves flowers etc and then make a collarge,

laminate a few different letter sheets and use a white board marker.

Get some large sheets of plain paper (like butchers use), and some cheap and easy watercolours. A few old toothbrushes, and a few 6″ square pieces of wire mesh like you have on screen doors and you’re set. Dip the toothbrush in a little watercolour, hold the piece of wire mesh about 6″ from the paper, and move the brush back and forth over the mesh. You’ll get a really pretty spray of colour, and you can use several colours on one sheet of paper.

clay is a great one to keep them busy like play dough.

We always enjoyed card making ,not always birthday cards ,glue collection of bits &pieces ,recycled old card s .Sometimes it had their attention for a while!
