Hello!

Hi everyone!
I got my flu vaccination on Saturday and yesterday (after 3 days) I got a terrible allergy reaction on my legs. It was so itchy. Luckily the antihistamines solved the problem quite quick.
Did it happen to anyone else?

  • I have but i dont think it works

  • I stopped getting them as everytime I had a reaction from a Flu Jab fever flu like symptoms

  • I got it few days back but got no reaction other than swollen arm.

  • No that seems odd?!

  • No problem at all for me or my kids aged 4 and 2. Glad i got it after reading about all the children being hospitalised.

  • Absolutely!

  • I have had it twice when pregnant (2016 & this year) and also had it last year as my son’s got quite a bad cold plus asthma so wanted to avoid any further risks of another hospital trip.
My husband got his through work & both my boys have had it two years running & we’ve had no reactions at all (they all got a bit of a cold, but I think it just coincided with us returning home to cold weather after a warm holiday & getting back into day-to-day routine as I haven’t had so much as a cough and I have the shitty immune system at the moment ;-0 ). My arm hurt for about a day afterwards but it’s so worth it!

  • Yes, I didn’t know that kids need a second shot.

  • My kids got it and didnt have any reactions luckily.

  • No reaction. I got mine done and so did my partner. Was only the second one we have ever had. I had a very sore arm for 3 days but that was it. Our son had his first flu injection but needs to have a second 28 days later as hes only 9-10 months old

  • From now on I will just expect to have a reaction every time.
And I’ve decided that it’s worth getting vaccinated every year.

  • Had my flu shot again this year , and yes I had my usual reaction avery mild cold . Stuffy head ,few aches and pains for about 48hrs then everything ok . Would never think of not having it.

  • Thanks everyone for all your answers! :-)
When I go back to my GP I will surely mention the reaction I had.
Riss Nixon: so you had a reaction as well. But all over the body? Mine was localized. Not nice indeed. I just wanted to scratch.
No, I am not allergic to eggs, Jujubear.
I was the only one having a reaction in my family.
Ha! Ha! Mom206279, I love the added benefit too! ;-)
I also never get the flu, but this year I didn’t want to risk. My daughter is also going on school tour next month, and it would be terrible if she got the flu just at that time.
My husband has a heart condition and gets it every year.

  • Our whole family (5 of us) had the flu shot and had no reactions.

  • I have it every year being a Nurse in a hospital we have to have it….never had a reaction though. You poor luvy…..are you allergic to eggs? Asking as if you are they recommend you dont have it.

  • Maybe a good idea to discuss with your GP – they should able to answer your queries about vaccines.

  • I never get it and have never got the flu….touch wood.

  • Individuals appear to have different reactions.

  • I had a reaction as well. A red itchy rash over my body and felt really unwell. It was horrible

  • No i’ve never had that. sometimes i get flu like symptoms, but very slightly.
