Hello!

I find leaving dishes overnight to drain gives the dishes a better shine when I put them away in morning.

  • Yes, all the time. If you hand dry them with a tea towel it takes the chine off and increases chance of spreading bacteria if tea towel isn’t 100% clean.

  • I leave dishes to “drip dry” after each meal, but I’m a wee bit anal about leaving stuff on the sink overnight. I like to get up to a clean kitchen, so I always put dishes away once they’ve dried in the draining rack. I don’t use a tea-towel unless I’ve washed something & need to use it straight away, because tea-towels do harbour a lot of germs.

  • Honestly I’ve never tried this before! Thanks for the tip!

  • Yes always leave them to drip dry. It is better to let them drain and air dry …

  • I leave mine to air dry too, plus tea towels carry so many germs, that end up being wiped back on to clean dishes

  • I use a drying rack. Dry in the morning and ready to put away!

  • >.< sometimes I leave my dishes in the sink to let them soak… hehe, (On my lazy nights)

But I always let mine drip dry in the rack.. I don't like using tea towels. They hold to much bacteria.

  • Yep, l hate drying dishes and the kids won’t do it. Leave them on the rack.

  • yep… I do that all of the time 🙂

  • I always leave dishes on the rack! I never dry with a tea towel.

  • I leave mine overnight to dry 🙂

  • I d mine before a do a load of washing up, just to soak up all the stuff first so im not washing up in crumbs and food bits.

  • i often leave to dishes over night to dry mainly because i would rather spend time with the kids before they go of to bed then drying the dishes

  • I don’t know about the shine, but if things haven’t dried in the dishwasher, I put them onto the drying rack to dry completely before they’re put back into my cupboards. I think it’s more hygienic and I can’t be bothered to dry them manually!

  • Not me I cannot stand anything left in the sink or hanging around I have to dry them and put them away even a little single cup

  • I agree, it lets the dry properly

  • We never use the tea towels to dry our dishes – ain’t nobody got time for that in this house! We always leave our dishes to dry in the dish rack, usually with the tea towel draped over them.

  • I always leave the dishes to drain, I never have time to hand dry them! Can’t say I pay particular attention to how they look though..as long as their clean that’s all I care about 🙂

  • Drying dishes is a waste of time for me. Dishes in the dishwasher and other items I let them dry them very quickly put them away.

  • I always leave mine to dry overnight 🙂 takes long enough to wash them let alone dry them too
