  • I chose to vaccinate my children but I don’t agree with the government pretty much forcing us. Different people have different opinions and I think there should be place for that.

  • Absolutely YES!! I have a relative whose brain was damaged from the measles. He needed care all his life.
These diseases are dreadful and having observed what measles can do, the decision to vaccinate my children was a no brainer

  • I agree with vaccination. I think there may be people who have adverse reactions to vaccines but for the most part they protect the child and the community.

  • I am so pleased to see that all of the responses to your question are strongly in favour of Vaccination. I really expected the anti-vaxxers to argue their point on this, but commonsense, Science and professional medical advice regarding some children being at risk if vaccinated keeps these dangerous diseases at bay.

  • Yes, i agree with vaccinations, it is a really tough topic that causes a lot of debates!

  • I definetly agree with immunisation and most definitely agree with the government legislation.

  • Totally agree with vaccinations… I want to do all I can to protect my child

  • I do believe in Vacinations, it isnt just to protect your child but others.
I respect other parents that choose not to vax their kids, i do not think it is they are bad parents just personal choice.
I believe the government shouldnt be allowed to tell parents what they should do.

  • So pleasing to see that almost 100% of people are for immunizing their kids and boosters for adults as required. People that are against vaccinations should have to attend hospitals where babies are being treated for whooping cough just to see how life threatening it is.

  • I totally agree with vaccination. I can’t believe there are people going against it. It is your child’s life in risk…

  • 100% absolutely for vaccinations unless there is a legitimate medical reason (some infants cannot get vaccinations due to cancers etc). The reason we’re seeing a spike in previously almlst completely eradicated viruses is because there has been a spike in parents not vaccinating their children. I am totally for the the government’snew laws, I wish they would make it compulsory to have vaccinations at all schools, daycares etc (except for medical exceptions)!

  • My child is vaccinated because I would feel horrible if he got sick or caused another child to get sick because I decided not to get my child vaccinated.

  • I am pro vax. I work for Queensland health and can advise that herd immunity does exists. In other words the more people who get vacinated have a better chance of protecting the people who can’t get vaccinated for medical reasons only. Also for thoose who don’t realise, centrelink has always cut off child care benefit if your immunisations are over a few months overdue without a doctors certificate.

  • Vaccinations were created for a reason. I do not want my children getting whooping cough, measles or polio and dying. My children get vaccinated for this reason and also to help create herd immunity to protect those children who are medically unable to receive vaccines for whatever reason(s), and the immunocompromised (elderly, tiny babies, people with AIDS/other autoimmune diseases).

  • Yes i am all for it and all of my kids are up to date with whats needed. One of my friends was against it mainly due to the fact she though it was unnessesary, that was till people started to avoid her kids due to them having the chicken pox and one of her kids ending up sick and in hospital. She had a hard time finding anyone willing to look after her kids during that time so she could be at the hospital with the sickest child. No one wanted their kids exposed to it. Then another came down with whooping cough and that also spread through her house. She then realised she had made her kids sick by not doing the right thing in the first place… Getting them up to date on their needles etc.took time. Now people no longer avoid her kids ….

  • In the early 20th century, polio was one of the most feared diseases in industrialized countries, paralysing hundreds of thousands of children every year. Soon after the introduction of effective vaccines in the 1950s and 1960s however, polio was brought under control and practically eliminated as a public health problem in these countries.
I for one do not want to return to this also if you have ever witnessed a bub or small child struggling to breathe due to whopping cough and you where on the border line about vaccinating seeing this heartbreaking sight would push you over the border and have you running to the Dr for the jab.
This community of non believers needs to see a video of a bub suffering and struggling to breathe.

  • I am for vacinnation and I commend the government for bringing in laws to ensure that all children are protected from some of the nasty (and avoidable with vaccination) diseases.

  • Totally and completely. There are many different parenting styles and techniques – some I disagree with but I would never say anything – each parent is doing their best. When it comes to vaccination refusal I have zero tolerance. I cannot start to understand how anyone could be so gullible as to believe the nonsense the anti vax movement spew out. I am extremely proud that the immunisation program started by my parents in Uganda has dramatically reduced the infant mortality rate – and guess what? No “vaccine injuries” and no autism. Just Mum’s and Dads who will queue for hours to get their little ones protected.

  • 100% yes! Having grown up overseas and seeing first hand what some of these diseases can truly do, I didn’t hesitate for bub and won’t hesitate to vaccinate again if we have a second child.

  • personally think it is good idea,as an older Mum immunity is better for sure, had my kids done as I was long ago too. Old illnesses returning once more as vaccination became a no no. Safeguard your child and others for sure. Unless of couurse reason why not to do, allergies and other things can come into view.. me pretending I am rich at ritty hotel in Queensland
