If they’re already going to be playing with water pistols, you could make up some targets. Kids are pretty inventive during play if you provide a bunch of random things to the mix. Slip and slides can be fun, and keeps them active.

Playing soccer or basketball is always fun.

You could arrange a little treasure hunt too!!

Play-dough always looked like a nice activity to me. With boys and girls!

Mine love those she’ll pools for a bit of extra fun play on the water by adding bubble bath dish detergent and they have a bubble pool

My children always loved playing \’statues\’. Old school game where they run around until someone yells \’stop.\’ They all must stand like a statute, it usually ends up with the giggles. The last child standing is the winner!

Our favorite things to do in summer is going to all the free kid free festivals more of a bonus if they have fireworks. We have a kayak so we go down to the river and have a swim and a paddle. We like to explore new beaches. Have picnics by the river. Catch ups at the park. Perth is a beautiful city and so many things to see and do.

Taking the kids to the beach is always the most fun in the summertime.

I’d make a waterslide out of some tarp and liquid detergent! so much fun and can spend hours doing it!

A great game that I played with my kids, was the Detective Game. Write out the alphabet on each piece of paper, for each child. As you walk around the yard, the neighbourhood, and/or shopping centre, you try to find things starting with each letter. I even love this game

So many fun things to do outside. If you’re known as a fun mum, I’m sure you’ll have no problem thinking of activities.

Fill balloons with plastic toys, fill with water and then freeze. Kids use a water pistol at the frozen ball to melt the ice cube and free the toy

If you have a sandpit you could make a treasure hunt/dig. I did this once with my kids. I bought a couple of bags of chocolate coins and buried them in our sandpit. They had so much funny digging them up. I also found a small wooden chest at a $2 shop and put a small toy in it and buried that too.
Another sandpit idea is to make a volcano. make a ‘mountain’ with a bottle in the middle with the top exposed. Put some bi-carb soda in the botttle. When you are ready for the ‘eruption’ pour some vinegar into the bottle.
Give them a bucket of soapy water and let them wash their teddies’ clothes.
Or if you can park the car out the back – let them wash the car.
Allocate a piece of the garden as a space for them. Show them how to take cuttings, plant out seedlings etc. Another day you can all make a scarecrow. Collect sticks to make mini garden trellis, fences and plant supports.
Use long bamboo sticks tied together at the top, spirally wrap string around it then get them to use small branches, (best when you have just pruned the garden,) to weave in and out to cover their tee pees.
Make a small pond out of a large plant saucer. Decorate the edges with pebbles, interesting, small logs and little plants. Create a rock statue in the middle of your pond.

Have you seen the Nature Passports? They are fabulous: http://passport.natureplay.org.au/ My three children: aged 11 (boy), 8 (boy) and 6 (girl) love going through and choosing their nature missions and completing them together. They don’t always play nicely (can turn into a competition) but it gets them out, and about, and enjoying nature. Well worth it!

I agree with the waterparks. They have free entry in Darwin, my daughters loved it while we were there on holidays!

Silly little things that my girls 10 and 8 like are sidewalk chalk – making hopscotch and playing hangman and just drawing.
Building a forte with sheets and blankets and chairs.
Bubbles. Bubbles always win.
You can do science experiments – Google home experiments and there are lots of options.
Sprinkler?

Water painting outside mm the pavement or a blank wall.

Picnics in the backyard
Good old mud pies or outside kitchen fun.

There are so many free great water parks about!! Also rsl clubs with play areas on hot days.

A totem tennis pole is always a good idea. It doesn’t take up much room and the children can play tennis without the ball flying over fences. Sometimes you can also get a soccer ball attachment.
