  • Good to read that so many on here do look at this

  • Yes I usually read the back of the label. Especially if it’s something we haven’t tried before and I always pick the healthier option

  • Yes, I’m always look at the food labels before I buy a product and prefer products without sugar

  • Yes all the time! I always buy the no added sugar option if it’s available.

  • i always do. it is scary how much sugar is in all types of food some that don’t even need the high quantity. what is also very important to look at is what type of sugars are in the food because some are harder for the body to process than others. things like high fructose corn syrup is a terribly bad form of sugar. and just remember on the label if the word ends in ‘ose’ it is a sugar eg fructose, sucrose ect

  • Some foods are surprisingly high in sugar.

  • I do worry about the sugar content of foods.

  • I do look at the sugar content of foods I buy. But I tend to stick mostly to fruit, veggies and meat on my grocery list so I avoid high content sugar products

  • Always and I like to avoid processed sugar as much as possible. I don’t look only to the amount of sugar btw, also to the other ingredients

  • Yep. The sugar content in a lot of foods would shock most people. I avoid sugar as much as possible. As well as bad fats and salt

  • Absolutely! It hides in the most unexpected places.

  • We buy regular items and already know what is in our food.

  • Not really – mainly buy healthy foods and some treats.

  • Thanks for your all answers,l am more aware of the sugar intake as some products contain so much!

  • I’m really bad I don’t worry about sugar generally I make most snacks at home anyway so when I buy them at the shop it’s for convenience only hehehe

  • I check when buying foods for my son, but not so much When the foods are for me and hubby.

  • Yep. I don’t buy a ton of things I used to especially for the kids now that I’m aware of the amount of hidden sugar.

  • Sure do, its always good to be conscious just how much sneeky sugar intake you might be exposing yourself too. Doesnt mean you can’t have it but it’s good to be aware of how much you and the family are getting.

  • Absolutely. I will not buy some products because of sugar content. I like the gm sugar, per 100gm product, to be less than 10gm, which is 10% and actually quite a lot. It is surprising how many things are more than this – cooking sauces, yougharts, cereals, health bars and other things that you might go to thinking were ok.

  • I sure do. Only recently though. I’m so disgusted I used to feed my kids coco pops and Nutri grain. Even more disgusted the big companies sell them as healthy when they’re so far from it
