Hello!

How long before it’s just a bully item in the nappy bag?

  • For my grandaughters I always take my own change mat as you never know where you will need it than I wipe it over each time.

  • Have been carrying one (new ones of course!) for over 5 years. As long as I have a kid in nappies, I’ll be using one. Have had so many emergency changes in the car, on the grass, etc – a change mat is so valuable!

  • I always carried a change mat, change of clothes, nappy a sacks for dirty nappies, baby wipes and double the amount of nappies that should be required no matter where I went. I would wipe any surface before changing a nappy than afterwards I would thoroughly clean both sides of the change mat. Both my husband and I used 2 baby bags and all of the things I mentioned above we both did plus we kept a brand new mat as a backup in the car

  • Yes, I always brought one. I also had a nappy bagwhich had a changing mat connected to it, by unzipping one of the sides a chamging mat would unfold. A found a changing mat more hygienic.

  • We always have our change mat with us.

  • I dont find them bulky at all – if you do maybe look intomthe disposable ones which are really handy when you have a poo-plosion! (It all gets wrapped up for the bin). I take one with me in the bag and its the size of a sheetnof newspaper and not much thicker. I wasbat a park recently and saw someone changing their kid on the grass with nothing underneath, it was a bit grose. As much as I love nature, grass makes me itchy and little ones have much more sensitive skin

  • My daughter is 20 months and I still take a change mat. You never know what scenario you are in where you’ll need it. Even having one in the car is handy so no lil accidents end on the seats lol!

  • I think it remains useful as long as you use nappies!

  • I always use one.
Most of the change rooms are supposed to have a dispenser for a plastic protection but it’s always empty.

It’s so dirty everywhere and people don’t pay attention. I’d rather carry one and not use it than having to change my baby on a dirty space.

Plus if you are out somewhere without a change room it can be super handy.

I will use one until my bun is toilet trained.

  • I did with all my kids when they were little and when I no longer needed to carry a full nappy bag I used to have a few of the little disposable ones in my handbag along with the nappy and wipes.

  • I did until my kids were toilet trained. You never know what germs are on some surfaces!

  • I always used change mats until my kids were toilet changed. Early days when babies I used one in my nappy bag but as they got older and bigger and if I wasn’t taking nappy bag out or didn’t need a nappy bag I always had disposable change mats or a change mat that folded up small. Meant I could change nappies anywhere and with wipes knew it was clean. I always used my own mat on top of baby change tables in shops or elsewhere.

  • Definitely a necessity in some places like parks, shopping centre change centres and the back of the car!

  • Yeah we use mats, protecting my baby from harmful germs and disgusting changing tables

  • Along with a mat lots of wipes and bags – always wise to be well prepared.

  • No matter where I am I always use a change mat. Sometimes I even use a disposable mat under my own mat.

  • Yes. No matter how careful you fitting and undoing nappies there is sometimes a risk of spillage. I don’t want to make a mess of other peoples’ beds, furniture or floor(I will only use a floor if I know it has just been thoroughly cleaned). If I use a change table I always wipe it before using it. Babies have a habit of touching things then putting their fingers either just on the face or straight into their mouths.

  • it depends – it can be really handy if you are out at the park or somewhere without clean facilities to change easily and safely. but not really necessary for shopping centre visits or small trips out and about.

  • Yes, when my daughter was young I always brought a change mat with me. I wouldn’t have felt comfortable otherwise.

  • Always used a change mat.
