  • I had once a panick attacke when I was hospitalized with a serious long infection and was higly pregnant. I was on oxygen but couldn’t breath had pain and panicked

  • I have Anxiety attacks quite often anything little can even trigger them so I find meditating really helps me

  • I agree with the other MoMs on this thread that focusing on your breathing really helps to control and recover from panic attacks.

  • Being mindful of things and taking few deep breaths when you feel stress and panic is building up hopefully helps

  • I have been, only the last couple of years since going through menopause. I just talk myself down and get up and do something

  • I have not but mum does have them and it’s best to focus on your breathing and relax.

  • Since beginning to transition through menopause last year, I went through a phase of shocking panic attacks. So bad I was waking up having one! I calmed myself by talking through why I was stressing, worked myself down to nothing.

  • I had a panic attack once when I was under extreme stress. My arms went numb, my hands were sweating and I was hyperventilating. I didn’t do anything and eventually, after 10 minutes or so, it subsided. Very scary though.

  • I have panic attacks about dying. The best way is exposure to your fear….Small tiny doses that gradually increase over a period of time. Might be best to speak with a psychologist who can give you the best way of dealing with your fear. Unfortunately for me I can’t do that haha mine is not constant… I have the oh F*#k moments and I get stuck on it. I find for me if I have one I expect more frequently over the week. Up to three a day. I don’t know if that’s a lot or a little but I hate them, thy take a lot out of you. The best thing I do is stay active as in physically active I also listen to an app called smiling mind and find meditation to be a good way. Goodluck it’s not easy

  • I have a severe panic disorder so have them very often especially when out which makes me not go out alone anymore. Look into CBT (therapy) as well as go to your Dr, they will have advice that is tailored for you. I am on Lexapro and find I am still myself just the panic isn’t as heightened. You could try valium but it is notoriously hard to be prescribed and not a long-term answer especially since it wears off and leaves you exhausted. Try to do the things that you are terrified of. If you have a panic attack when you see a spider in your house start by looking at books of cartoon spiders, then spiders in nature books etc, work your way up so that it has no hold on you. You need to remember that it is entirely your body’s response. You will not die and you will not pass out. It inevitably has to pass. It burns so much energy that it can’t sustain itself for more than a minute or two. Good luck!

  • i think that yo just have to try to calm yourself down. take deep breaths and try to sit still for a minute

  • A GP, Counsellor, books on anxiety attacks, breathing and mindfulness can all help with panic attacks.

  • My daughter does. She had one a little while back where her arm went dead and numb. Freaked her out, she thought it was a heart attack or a stroke, nope….just a panic attack

  • I don’t, but my mum used to have pretty bad panic attacks. I do know meditation can work for a lot of people.
I highly recommend going and talking to your GP about it x
