Hello!

I love my Kentucky Fried Chicken but since being diagnosed with Ceoliac I have been unable to eat it. Does anyone know of a recipe that gives a similar taste?

  • the main two ingredients are salt and white pepper(soaking the chicken in buttermilk overnight helps flavour too). i would say just experiment and make your own tasty chicken treat. and if you are not confident in mixing a whole heap of things together to get a nice flavor. just buy a nice spice mix/rub and mix it through gf flour

  • I have tried several different versions claiming to be ‘just like’ KFC. None of them come close. Sorry

  • My hubby does something but don’t have a recipe sorry!

  • I too came here looking for a recipe.

  • There is a packet coating stuff you can buy from the supermarket, Supercoat or something, not sure of the name. Have a look

  • The recipe is in the snacks and sides sections of recipes.

  • There is a good one in the recipes section.

  • Ive heard cornflakes is good for crunchy skin

  • If you soak the chicken in a buttermilk mixture (add some garlic, paprika, spices etc) and then coat it in rice flour, you can bake it at 180c until cooked and it will replicate KFC.

  • Add a touch of paprika to whatever coating you find works best, as this helps to mimic the KFC taste.

  • Hi I loved my KFC 3out of 4 of us are gluten intolerant I came up use either corn flour or normal gluten free flour mixed dried herbs place all ingredients into a zip lock bag mix together add your favourite chicken prices and shake it covering all chicken pieces place prices on a non stick tray\ baking dish drizzle a little bit of oil if no lid cover with alfoil in a hot oven 180 degree . last 10 min take lid or foil off and allow to crisp. Its not KFC but tastes just as good . hope this helps

  • Try looking at a company called Gourmet Morsels. They do spice mixes and have a chicken one. You may be able to assess its suitability to your condition.
